Counterpoint to Tom Friedman who loves to talk about the efficiency of China - because it is a dictatorship Tom. Why don’t you mention that?
Democracies always end in tyranny. The more we become a democracy, the closer we get to that end.
The question has been asked, “What is the end result of the votes of 150 million sinners?”
For those who don’t know, the title of the piece is an allusion to The God That Failed, a 1949 book which collects together six essays with the testimonies of a number of famous ex-communists, who were writers and journalists. The common theme of the essays is the authors’ disillusionment with and abandonment of communism.
