School lunches: Local 5-year-old cries when she has to eat school lunch
FOX 4 Local News ^ | May 27, 2014 | By Katie Ferrell

On Tuesday, First Lady Michelle Obama is expected to fire back against school meal critics who say the program to make school lunches healthier has gone too far.

FOX 4′s Katie Ferrell reported Tuesday morning on the reaction from Kansas City-area parents to the more nutritious school lunches.

Among the comments:

“The food provided as school lunch is not even edible. My 5-year old isn’t picky and she cries if we accidentally forget to pack her lunch,” said Jaye Anne on our facebook page.

“Yes it motivates us to send actual healthy food from home so our child doesn’t have to eat school lunches,” said Jennifer Smith.

Government media complex, government phones, government religions (proclaiming that all other faiths are “wrong” and homosexuality is NOT a sin and that it is a crime to persist in declaring it sinful)

Children are being starved because Michelle is fat.

Schools (the government) now harass parents who give their kids food to take to school.
Food. Sex education. Morals.
Little by little the schools (the government) is taking over control of the little minds. The ultimate goal is totalitarian control. We’re getting there.

I’m 65 I would not eat that crap served at school when I went to HS, why should our kids eat what is even worse.

I don’t eat hospital food either. Especially their liquid diets. Chem tasting jello, pop cycle, 1 inch of grease on over salted broth that smells the whole room up like some one let off a stink bomb. I drink the fruit juices when this occurs.

Hubby brings me food from home. I don’t care if it is just a turkey sandwich, it is NOT something I can’t eat, I can’t have soy, must be low sodium, and FAT is a NO go. I raid the nurses coffee.

As for pills I bring my own. And take them on MY schedule which my body is use to. Not their generic crap Synthroid. A 8 hr wait for a med is just not acceptable, when you need it 1 hr before any food or other meds when you first get up. And why should I pay 4 times the cost of a drug I already take and have, nor do they get control of them, I just don’t inform them I have them.

I eat lunch with WBill Jr, occasionally. School Cafeteria Food has not improved in the past 40 years. It was gunch when I was in school, and it's different - not better, just different - gunch, now.

Jr. takes his lunch, usually. There are a few days where he likes to eat the caf food - pizza day is one - but otherwise, he turns his nose up at it.

One time - once - this year, he wanted to go in early for the school breakfast. I told him "Sure", glad that he's willing to try new things. He said it was lousy, and he's not asked again. It's pretty hard to ruin fruit, pancakes and bacon, but they managed.

Sez me, what's the point to serving food that kids won't eat? Why bother?

Why bother?

Someone is making an enormous profit off of the crappy food being served, and taxpayers seem to be more than happy to pick up the tab.

Her parents too.

They seem to be under the delusion that they can pack a healthy lunch.

All the hospital food I have eaten was pretty good. But I was never a patient, only a visitor. But I will eat anything.

They got a little irritable when they found we snuck liquor into the room.

Exactly. Did the government approve that packed lunch? That lunch could be a danger to the child.

Having a little too much freedom can be as bad as drinking a little too much gasoline. That’s science and you can’t argue with science.
