Gun rights group won't be dining at Papillion Texas Roadhouse

A Papillion restaurant has nixed a gun rights group’s plan to dine while displaying firearms on their hips. The group had arranged to eat dinner Thursday at Texas Roadhouse at Shadow Lake Towne Center. But the restaurant’s managing partner, Steve Jackson, said Tuesday that the group wasn’t clear about its intentions and was no longer welcome if the participants openly wore their firearms.

“I want to feed people — not have a circus in here,” Jackson said.

Nick Crawford, the group’s organizer, said the restaurant expressed concerns about liability issues and general complaints.

Best quote out of the article:

“It always seems like the anti-gunners always get their way instead of the pro-Second Amendment people. That, to me, it’s getting old.”

Well that would have been one dinner not interrupted by a holdup.

People here in open-carry Idaho dine in restaurants all the time with their sidearms on their belts. Guess what? No circus, no frightened diners, most of all no crime. Sounds to me like the people of Papillion, NE are just pu**ies.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

You can have an all-you-can-eat buffet, and your customers will love it, but if you advertise it, you’ll have the fattest, hungriest people in the county putting you out of business.

Same here — it’s one thing to allow open carry, it’s another to advertise it.

I’ve seen that myself in a TR that will remain nameless just in case national management has a cow. Quite a few, actually. I carry concealed, myself, in that restaurant, every time I’m in there. Never a hassle.

Nebraska, isn’t that like a little Canada or something or
maybe a state Canada gave up on and it defaulted to us?

Ya think a restaurant called “The Butterfly” is going to want real men ruining the ambiance?

concerns about liability issues

I understand Texas has a pretty good tort reform law in place.

Same here. I try not to ‘print’ with IWB, but when I’m wearing a belly-pack it’s pretty obvious to all—but Democrats. No problem.

I went to school with a guy who would knock the crap out of anyone who took food off of his plate. A guy grabbed a pat of butter one day and my friend clocked him.

Maybe the manager of the restaurant is afraid someone will try to steal someone else’s butter.

I’ve eaten at that place a couple times.

Never again...

Plus the shopping center is for nothing but yuppies and city folk.

I actually feel sorry for the management there; they just want to run a business and don’t want to choose sides (publicly) on any issue.

That said, maybe the homosexuals are right when it comes to tactics; maybe a law suit is in order. Even so, the owners were put in a hard spot by our guys, even if it was not intended.
