Let’s give is a cool acronym. Congressmen can’t resist bills with them. How about Stupid Legislation Underwriting Sunni Hijinks From Unlimited National Debt (SLUSH FUND)?
“As a newly elected school board member...”
This is off topic, but, I am curious as to your activities and limitations as a school board member. Boards are frequently manipulated by the paid “executives” (superintendents, et al) who want to control information. They set the agenda; they lead you down the path to the “obvious” decisions. Usually there are loyalists on the board to make sure it obeys.
What I would want to do: visit and observe classrooms in action, unobtrusively and without prior warning. Ditto: “District headquarters”. Boards do have to provide corporate governance for the district. How can anyone do that effectively without seeing first-hand what actually happens in the classrooms, and whether “management” is really doing anything worthwhile? Are there other Board members who are interested and capable of understanding the details? Power flows to detailed knowledge and focused effort.
Wishing you success with your service.
...6 billion that is missing in the State Department.
One of Hillary’s notable accomplishments.
Another slush fund.
Ask Bubba fur some insider knowledge on how to make it work.
Hope you have a copy of “Brave New Schools:-Berit Kjos and “The Deliberate Dumbing Down of American Education” - Charlotte Iserbyte.
Essential material for School Board members.
That’s gonna buy a lot of hashyags.
