Why would anyone voluntarily go hear him talk?

If I were a cadet I’d go AWOL from my own graduation...

It doesn’t seem like they are really excited about the President but really the parents who they finally get to meet. One of the companies are not happy of the event at all due to the Army having similar items sold on base and hurting his business and then their is the traffic which nobody would be happy about.

They are just excited that the majority of their mandatory service won’t be under him.

A real warrior (what West Point is supposed to be turning out), would respond to an enemy as an enemy and not as a friend.

Gentlemanly protocol is reserved for signing the surrender treaty, not for a mid battle chance encounter.

Turn your backs, gentlemen.

It would take a "great act of courage", if these cadets were
"to spit & turn their backs" on this Marxist @$hole.

So long as the drug-addled communist is acting as Community-Organizer-in-Chief, the cadets are obligated to show respect to the Commandant and the Superintendent during this visit from America’s most dangerous enemy. They should not turn their backs on the petty dictator. They also should not applaud unless ordered to do so, and if ordered they should follow orders in the most tepid, disinterested manner possible without embarrassing their uniformed leadership.

Again, allowing this guy into the presidency or voting him in and then expecting the military to do something about it is silly

The military works for us.

They do not protect our every freedom like a bunch of mercenaries

We are supposed to take care of our military and not, by allowing military abusers into office

He is a reflection of us.

A commander in chief that couldn’t care less about the military ... unless it’s a photo op situation.

I don't think that's really an option. I'm glad my cadet isn't graduating this year.

Graduations are about the students. I can’t remember any graduation speakers from any event that I attended with the exception of Gore when he spoke at West Point a few years ago. And the only reason I remember him was for the negative remarks that spread through the stands.

Graduation speakers represent a perfunctory institution that you just have to suffer through. Maybe there are some good ones but I’ve never experienced that. Just a lot of totally forgettable ones.

I would go. It's about time the Army developed combat teleprompters. Affirmative Action Officers need them to issue commands to their troops.

To watch my CiC swivel his sleek head from one teleprompter to another as he delivers platitude after platitude after non-sequitur is an awe-inspiring sight to see and wonderful to hear.

Somehow, it brings me back to my glory days in combat, during which a frequently heard phrase was,

"WTF was that?"

“If I were a cadet I’d go AWOL from my own graduation...”

Like all the photos of odumbo with our military people (look at their faces), the cadets will be FORCED to attend even if they are not in the graduating class.

West point turns out "Officers and gentlemen." Officers first. They will show appropriate respect for the office of Commander in Chief. I suspect the applause will be tepid at best, but not disrespectful. This is as it should be.

This one you can’t miss because they administer the oath of office to all of the graduates to be second lieutenants in the Army.

The parents could and should let Obama know what they think of him.
