The EU has unveiled plans to reduce its reliance on Russian gas, with increased imports from Norway and energy efficiency at the top of its wish list. […]

Of the 400 billion cubic metres of gas consumed in the EU each year, around 40 percent comes from Russia’s state-owned Gazprom. The majority of this is piped through Ukraine, currently embroiled in a dispute with Russia over how much it owes Gazprom for its past and future gas supplies. …

I didn’t see anything about building nuclear reactors, or developing their own gas resources.

Don Quixote is alive and well, and making policy in the EU.

I believe one of the terms of the money that Ukraine was “loaned” via the EU and the IMF was that they raise the prices of gas for the Ukrainian people.

Germany has been trying to do that since the 2009 shutoff, and has learned just hoe hard that is.

Beyond the technical, infrastructure, and supply challenges, the Green Nazi’s are fighting it every step of the way.

‘’only mean the best, /s “”

Yeh only for the russians and little green men,

And the little writing men......

UKR, poland, germany, UK, others huge shale oil/gas fields
that will be developed. c\Coal and gas picking up from US,
Germany redoing dozens of coal plants.

As this kicks in the bleep bleep big gas station with
its help living in cement cubicles in the parking lot,
will be broke and its boss will end up gutted in a ditch..
The ideal of a perfect world......

‘’will be broke ‘’

For a while as they have deal with china, but china
gets stuff on the cheap. Russia also going to do gas line
or two to Japan. That takes pressure off of US LPG
shippers who then go to EU thus getting them more help to
get away from russia...Ed

Funny, I SPECIFICALLY remember Reagan telling Western Europe not to become dependent on Soviet Natural Gas.

He was laughed at, by the liberals, both here and in Europe.
