A primary reason our last two were born at home. Hospitals unintentionally traumatize new mothers, babies and families.
That works until something goes wrong and something can always go wrong. Hospitals refuse to acknowledge that’s all they’re there for. And people refuse to take charge of there own health care
Hospitals don’t like getting sued, which happens a lot. So they take over and treat it like its an emergency
And most People do not like having to have discomfort, forget pain. They think because they’re told they can have the baby without having discomfort
One way is to talk to the pediatrician and tell him to ease up on all the immunizations at once Negotiate which ones can wait till two months they give too many at once
Figure out how to deliver ( with no support from staff used to being in charge of a drugged up anesthetized patient
Read Leboyer. Or Find a hospital with a birthing center and dads don’t have to be there I don’t think they should be. Find a doula. But dads should go to the nursery and don’t let the kid out of sight. The stAff wants to take over
(most of their patients want them to) Follow up on the immunization deal. And the baby doesn’t want to go with these people in th fluorescent The kid knows the sound of the fathers voice. So it is very helpful
And read up on, three months out, how to do labor. Then do it. And forget the to if drugs, forget letting staff take over they end up with inducing with nasty artificial hormones and then c section Just deliver the kid. It’s over, if labor gets under way before the staff takes over with lights and terror, in twelve hours max, and get home in 24 hours
But I don’t recommend doing so without an accessible neonatal ICU or OR
