CNN) -- pRresident Barack Obama on Wednesday outlined a foreign policy vision of "might doing right," arguing that modern pragmatism requires both a strong military and the diplomatic tools of alliances and sanctions to exert influence and provide global leadership.

He told graduating cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point that after the nation's "long season of war and divisions about how to move forward," they now would represent America with the duty "not only to protect our country, but to do what is right and just." Under fire from the political right for what critics call diminishing U.S. global influence, Obama offered a robust defense of his foreign policy as the pragmatic and most effective expression of America's leadership role in the world.

"I believe in American exceptionalism with every fiber of my being," he said, referring to a tenet of conservative ideology.

6 years in and now just tepidly and meekly outlining some sort of foreign policy. Good job, you did it all by yourself!

It takes 3 “journalists” to put lipstick on this pig of a rambling speech? What is wrong with these people?

This jackwagon has gutted the orientation of world power that had existed since WWII.

He’s a pathetic Marxist. But, he prepared our next generation of warriors to fight the battle of climate change! Pathetic. Period!

At this point, the Left’s only hope to retaining POTUS is starting a war. Looks like they’re starting to start it, needing only a target.

I was watching Brett Baier this afternoon and the panel was discussing pResident nObma’s “foreign policy”, listening to Dr. Krauthamer and Stephen Hayes, when the thought struck me; This administration's foreign policy could have been designed by Jacques Clouseau.
That is Clouseau not Cousteau

Obama can’t find the USA on a map. He wasn’t born here, wasn’t raised here, and certainly wants her cut down to size with the rest of the 3rd world cesspools he is use to. If he even bothered to pretend to love this country his first speech as president wouldn’t have been his worldwide act of felatio to Egypt as his first speech as president.

Obama told them to do what was right and just, which explains why they put him under house arrest and called the CIA to tell them they had detained a foreign agent at a military base.

Interesting that it is termed "a tenet of conservative ideology" even though the biggest Leftist of them all says he believes in it. What's left out is how he also detests it and is destroying it.

sanctions to exert influence

This is straight from the Jimmy Carter government school of thought. This tactic mainly results in turning former allies into pissed off enemies focused on a mission of revenge.
