>> This I agree with you. I dont think the politicians care.
Given the nation’s wealthiest areas border DC, it seems the politicians are all set without much to worry about.

Mortgage rates have dropped to under 3%. Now is a great time to invest in real estate. Buy with real money, pay back the loan with worthless money.

Economic shrinkage = good thing right?
Fights global warming and all that?
right?

“Like we don’t know that. Concern with products being made in China go back many decades. Where have you been? You write these things as if you just found out that China manufactures products.”
Things have changed significantly in the last few decades. Before, China made nothing but junk that no one would buy, aside from a few toy and textile manufacturers. But now they sell everything, and the world is lining up to buy their products.
Out in West Texas, my friends in the oil industry tell me that Chinese products are now dominant in the oil fields. They say they are usually nothing more than copies of US equipment, but at half the cost. The upshot, loss of American jobs. What China is doing is seriously eroding the manufacturing base of the US, which means fewer jobs.
Not all of our problems can be done away with by tax cuts or elimination of government regulations. When you have Chinese workers willing to do the same work as Americans for 10% of the pay, then you have a problem not easily resolved in a free trade world.

To your point, since their products are getting better and prices are remaining (artificially) low, bringing back American manufacturing is a guaranteed LOSING investment! The solutions still rely on the US Government to do that which is right for AMERICANS!
Remove the limiting yolks of taxation and regulation that we KNOW drives down innovation, expansion and growth and/or remove the free trade with governments that exploit their own citizens! Free trade is NOT equality when some countries have forced labor and their competitors must make a profit! There is no amount of "bring back" that will thwart these disadvantages!
Our own government keeps adding millstones to our necks while throwing life lines to our enemies/competitors and people like you are screaming at the drowning man, "Why aren't you doing more to win, you BUM?!?!?"

Thanks.
I understand I’m not saying things which everyone is prepared to hear.
It’s good to know, some are at least listening.

Obamacare saved us money and was positive for the economy.Actually, when those Q1 numbers of 0.1% GDP growth came out a few weeks back, the Administration said that increased spending on health care gave a boost to the economy. Of course, no one in our ever-vigilant media thought to ask, But wasn't ObamaCare supposed to *decrease* what we spend on health care?.
