President Romney Basks in Latest Triumph
New York Magazine ^ | 5/29 | Jonathan Chait

When the history of this presidency is written, it will record that bold, progressive reforms dramatically reshaped the face of government, thanks to the vision, creativity, and political will of one man. And that man is Mitt Romney.

President Obama already has Gina McCarthy, who designed Romney’s cap-and-trade program in Massachusetts, running the Environmental Protection Agency for him. Coral Davenport reports today that the administration’s new regulations of power plants, due for release Monday, will be designed to expand the structure Romney built:

As governor of Massachusetts, Mr. Romney was a key architect of a cap-and-trade program in nine northeastern states, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. ...

Officials with the northeastern regional cap-and-trade program that Mr. Romney initially endorsed have played a significant role in shaping the new rule. In frequent trips to Washington over the last several months they have consulted with Ms. McCarthy and other top E.P.A. officials.

It’s Cap-and-Mitt!

Cap and Mitt.Photo: Joe Raedle/Getty Images Romney, of course, created the prototype for what became Obama’s national health-care plan, and proposed to take his plan national, before learning upon closer inspection that his plan actually amounted to the end of freedom in America. Now Obama is sneakily stealing another Romney accomplishment, thus transforming it from a centrist, market-based reform into a socialistic monstrosity.

This is really going to set back Romney’s hopes of winning the 2016 Republican primary. On the other hand, why would Romney even need to become president now? He’s already won.

the little people use too much electricity and too much gasoline.

the peasants must be curbed, and controlled, by the virtuous upper classes, for the good of the earth. This wil be done by pricing these luxuries out of their reach, rationing them to those that can pay- or that the rich decide to subsidize ..windmills for Africa and the like

the rich will fly their private jets to conferences at 5 star hotels to lecture us, then retire to their private islands and luxury gated retreats to rest from the labors of saving the earth from ... err, nor for....the little people

Romney tried to act all nice, but I think you are very wrong about him. He knew what he was doing and it is deliberate. He is very anti-American and anti-Christian.

I could never bring myself to vote for a pro-abort (Obama), even though I never believed Romney was sincerely pro-life.

But the downside to a RINO administration is that so many people would remain asleep. At least with the illegal alien Muslim terrorist in the White House, people are waking up.

That’s one of the most important differences. Say what you want about Romney, but the guy doesn’t have a chip on his shoulder about America or any particular ethnic groups. Can’t say that about Obysmal.

Romney is why I voted for a Democrat: Grover Cleveland. It was probably the only write-in vote he got.

“But I couldn’t say how.”

There are at least 2 things.

First, and most important, Mitt Romney does not hate America or Americans.

Secondly, he seems to have a good grasp at how to make money, so he might well have improved the economy.

One more, his wife is quite sweet, so that would have been an improvement too.

I’m not a Romney-bot, but he’s a much better person than Barack Obama. I very much wish he had won the election.

My life has been a crap-fest since Oct, 2012. For various personal reasons which I won’t detail here.

None of these are Obama’s direct fault, but he’s done nothing to make things better for me or any other middle class people, or anyone really, except his corrupt cronies.

I don’t know if anything Romney would have done would have helped me or not, but gosh darn it I know he wouldn’t have spent the past 18 months trying to hurt me and people like me and that’s exactly what Obama has done.

Because he hates America and Americans and most especially he hates white, middle class Americans.

My president hates me, he’s pretty much said it right out.

So yeah, I’ll definitely plead guilty to really, really wishing Romney had won the last election.

I believe that Mitt Romney dislikes America, and despises conservatives, it is why he couldn’t stand to be in the party of Reagan, and left it, becoming over time a democrat supporter, fund raiser, and voter, until in October of 1993, after Clinton had defeated Reagan’s veep, Romney rejoined the republican party.

His family has the most anti-American family history of any presidential candidate we have ever seen.

His wife is pro-abortion, dishonest, and an ex candidate herself, her parents were forced to stay outside the church when she and Mitt were married.

“And to think there are FReepers that believe Romney would have been better than Obama.”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The proper term would be “not as bad as” Obama. Like being bit by a Copperhead is “not as bad as” being bit by an Eastern Diamondback, both are pit vipers but you have a much better chance of surviving the Copperhead’s bite. Better seems to imply that there might be something good about either one, like saying that Porterhouse steak is better than T-bone steak.
