Hillary Clinton has a new problem on the left: The legacy of the 1990s economy

During her first White House bid, the booming Clinton economy of the 1990s was considered a political asset. But many liberals have since soured on parts of that record, arguing that Clinton administration policies contributed to the 2008 financial crash, the Great Recession and the economic malaise that followed.

Critics say Bill Clinton’s support for free trade agreements destroyed millions of middle-class manufacturing jobs, while his hands-off approach to financial regulation laid the groundwork for the financial crisis. Economic inequality soared during the 1990s, exacerbated by Clinton’s support of tax cuts on investment income.

Since then, Bill and Hillary Clinton and their advisers have maintained close ties to Wall Street — another major point of tension with progressives.

A few years back the subject of the 1980s came up in a discussion with a young co-worker.

"The decade of greed," he chortled.

"Why is it called that?"

"Because of how rich the people on Wall street became."

"But the market did even better in the 90s. Why aren't the 90s called the decade of greed?"

"I dunno."

"Funny how that works, isn't it?"

Hillary doesn’t have any problems.
She has full support and cover from every outlet of cultural and main stream media.

Her book signing is abysmal, but who knows about that?

The only problem she’s going to have is when that La Raza representative decides to push her aside like BO did. He’s the only option they have.

But any prob she has comes from the left.

We’d best not be stupid and grovel, stating that he cannot be as bad as she. Maybe so, maybe not. But very bad anyway.

They’ll usher him through and be so glad she’s once again out of the picture and unable to make good on her blackmailing threats.

The good of the country is last on a long list.

Another prob she’ll have is if a conservative runs as a conservative and not as a sycophant to the dems and their media, as usual. He’ll have a majority.

Romney was on yesterday, giving us the ‘Obama is a nice fellow, but he just...’ Line.

I’d rather watch Obama at West Point than Romney.

He is NOT a problem for Hillary. That he’s showing his face criticizing BO shows he’s running as the only candidate the GOP can throw.

He is NOT a problem for Hillary, not with Benghazi (Romney already failed miserably on that) not with brain damage, not with Lewinsky, Nothing.

And not with the economy of the 1990s.

This is WaPo.

If they care, it’s because they’re running against her from the left.

So, it was NOT Bush’s fault, after all?! /s

Does anyone remember the name of that husband and wife team who basically invented the subprime mortgage concept? They were big-time progressives and Dem donors, and I think they got started in the early Clinton years.

Democrats seem to forget that it only took Bill Clinton2 years to destroy their 50 year lock on the House of Representatives in one of the biggest landslide turnovers in history

What have we been saying since day one? What did you retarded douchetools say when Bush was sounding the alarms as early as 2002? Do you see how the Clinton numbers were largely smoke and mirrors?

Aww, forget it....
