On the floor of the House Wednesday, the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs featured a dialogue between Chairman Jeff Miller and Dr. Thomas Lynch, assistant deputy undersecretary for health for clinical operations at the Veterans Health Administration. Another shocking piece of information about VA hospitals was revealed during that exchange.
Miller revealed he had received an email from an employee at the Los Angeles VA Medical Center in which the employee raised concerns over the status of patient wait times and the possible manipulation of records. The director of the facility responded to colleagues via email and said that the employee raising concerns was a “disgruntled employee.” Later, however, a senior official remarked that “there appears to be inappropriate actions by the supervisor in Los Angeles.”
When Lynch responded to the email by saying that the VA told him that these matters involved the cancellation of radiology orders and that the patients were made aware of the changes, Miller took a quick look at a document handed to him and retorted that the email was not about radiology orders.
In 2011, Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy asked the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to audit major VA medical centers across the country. Finally, in 2013, the audit concluded that the scheduling policy in place at the VA was inherently flawed and was not representative of the actual wait times that veterans were enduring. On Wednesday, the inspector general report confirmed allegations in Phoenix that VA employees manipulated wait times.

It might be easier to ask if there are any VA hospitals that did NOT manipulate records.

We must continually remind the public that this is what obamacare will be without having the option of using the current hospitals to clear up the mess as now suggested
And you can bet the Democrats and their media allies will see to it that a paper trail of the VA’s problems goes all the way back to the Bush years.
My husband has nothing but praise for the treatment he has received at our local VA Center. Since this scandle broke, there have been letters to the editor praising our VA, too. So, some facilities are delivering the rightful service to our vets.
The few times I was able to get into the VA, it seemed ok, but I do remember it took several years to get my disability claim through. Fortunately, being retired, I was able to use the USAF active duty hospital, because it was so hard to get into the VA clinic. I never had a problem getting into the USAF hospital, but it was hard to get an appointment at the VA clinic. I don”t know about their books, but maybe someone is looking at them.
First of all, a doctor at the VA told McCain about this last year.
Second, if politicians knew about this problem they should have been visiting VA Hospitals during their “vacations” instead of going on “fact finding” missions to tropical islands. Do some fact finding at the VA hospitals.
Third, they’re concentrating on the fake lists. They need to be concentrating on why administrators found it necessary to make these fake lists. Obviously, it’s because, for some reason, they weren’t able to treat the number of patients they had. Find out why that is. Then prosecute the liars who made the fake lists and collected their bonuses.
The. It’s our jobs to get that trail way back to the Clinton years!

There is also the issue why this “coincidentally” was happening at more than one location. What does this show about what directors at various hospitals understood was expected of them? The fish rots at the head.

According to the govt media, none of this crap ends up back at the top. Even the DOJ is apparently roque.

It’s time to eliminate the salary bonus system for all federal government employees and appointees.
If performance bonuses are available these people will lie, cheat, steal, kill and ignore all laws and restraints to get their hands on the money.
