Love these Establishment types. A boring guy in his 60's is going to be the next national star?? But these are the same people that got excited about Mitt Romney, another boring guy in his 60's.

I worked so hard to get rid of Dewhurst, as did many, many others. I'm glad he got the boot.
Now that the liberal republican establishment politician is out of the way, I look forward to conservative legislation not being stalled or killed in the Senate.

They keep trying to tell us that the Tea Party is dead.
Don’t look for too much action in DC if we win the Senate; we won’t have enough to override a veto. But we may be able to limit El-Presidente’s damage to our once great nation.

Dewhurst is Dewhurst's own worst political enemy. His campaigns have been the most boorish, ugly, dishonest, overbearing I have ever seen. It is that more than any political position he has held that destroyed him. People just don't want someone that nasty.
And then there was this.

Mitt Romney was a boring guy in The 60s.
That's not necessarily a bad thing.

I was talking about the Senate of the State of Texas. Dewhurst has given committee chaimanships in the senate to democrats that have stalled or killed conservative legislation.
With Dewhurst gone, and his democrat machine falling apart, conservative legislation has a much better chance in the Texas Senate.

May his political career RIP —

Dont look for too much action in DC if we win the Senate; we wont have enough to override a veto. But politically, the key will be to force Obama to veto bills with popular support, over and over and over. Essentially, the exact opposite of the Reid-run Senate, where nothing Obama won't sign will ever see the light of day.

Like many other Texans have already stated....
Well....bye!
I went to a luncheon where Dewberry happened to be speaking, during his Senatorial run. It was all anyone could do to not snooze, once he began to talk. I felt kind of sorry for his staffers....having to listen to this guy drone on and on...on a daily basis.
Contrast that with a dinner we went to, this year, where Sen Cruz was the keynote speaker...his staffer’s never got a break, with folks clamoring to speak to the Senator, or his staffers, the entire event.

That is very much in the works.
The collapse of the Dewhurst machine takes a lot of leverage away from Strauss.
