Over at Commentary, our friend Jonathan Tobin rightly asks Wheres the Outrage Over CIA Outing?
It should be remembered that it was only a few years ago that the same Democratic Party that currently runs the White House was up in arms because the name of a CIA official was leaked to the press . the outrage about [Valerie] Plames outing in the liberal mainstream press was universal and white-hot. An angry Washington press corps helped manufacture a crisis that forced President Bush to appoint a special prosecutor to look into an act that was proclaimed to be nothing short of treason . [W]hat occurred this past week was far worse than anything that happened to Plame. Plame was, after all, serving in an office in Virginia and, while classified, was no secret. By contrast, the CIA station chief whose name was released is in peril every day in Kabul. He is serving on the front lines of a shooting war and the release of his name in this indiscriminate manner may well have compromised his effectiveness if not his safety.
To which I can only say, Amen.
But there is another reason, aside from hypocrisy, why isnt there more outrage over the outing of the CIA station in chief in Kabul: its par for the course. Leaks from this administration have become so regular that no one is surprised anymore when highly classified details like this are revealed.
Consider just a partial snapshot of this administrations record:
Last year, they leaked fact that the Libyan prime minister had approved the US raid that captured a senior al-Qaeda leader in Tripoli which led directly to the prime ministers kidnapping in retaliation for authorizing the raids.
They also leaked the fact that a second raid had been planned against one of the terrorists responsible for the Benghazi attack tipping him off that we were planning to snatch him.
Before that, they leaked the role of a British double agent in breaking up a new underwear bomb plot in Yemen requiring that double agent to be extracted.
They also leaked classified operational details of the bin Laden raid which got a Pakistani doctor who helped us arrested.
They also leaked classified details of a US cyber-attack on Irans nuclear program.
They also leaked the US and Israeli role in creating the Flame virus to spy on Irans nuclear program.
They also leaked the existence of a secret kill list of terrorists targeted with drone strikes.
They also leaked the existence of a secret US drone base in Saudi Arabia.
They also leaked the existence a secret Israeli agreement with Azerbaijan to use its territory in case of a raid on Irans nuclear program.
They also leaked the existence of secret special operations bases in Burkina Faso that were being used against al Qaeda in Africa.
They also leaked the presence of CIA teams in Turkey helping direct aid to anti-Assad rebels in Syria.
They also leaked the existence of a top secret covert action finding authorizing US support for rebels.
Help me out, folks am I missing anything? The leaks go on and on and on.
These are not leaks they are a flood. So is anyone at all surprised that they leaked the name of the CIA station chief in Kabul? After all, its just another ObamaLeak.
That is why theres not more outrage.
"Are they waiting for NYC to be nuked first?"
because there is not a Bush in the White House
Might explain Hillary and Obama doing a private lunch a couple days ago.
He might be connected to VA stuff, too.
Marxists being Marxists.
I seem to recall some leaks from the CIA aimed at damaging President Bush. So I should care about leaks hurting the CIA why?
The consequence of a state-run media is there are no consequences.
Here is why there is not more outrage about the outing of the CIA station chief in Kabul:
because it’s a Democrat that did it.......nuff said.................
Well, sort of. It’s because the current president is a democRat.
Anything a democRat does is given the benefit of the doubt because those in the press know that they have good intentions.
Biden let it out that it was a Seal Team that took out Bin Laden. Most of that team was later killed.
Actually, hypocrisy is the reason and you really don't need another explanation. Of course you add "totally corrupt MSM" for "hypocrisy" but that would redundant.
It’s hard to believe and watch but there truly is a deaf, dumb and blindness in the press when it comes to Demon-Rats.
They are like the Nazi’s loading the press onto a train to Treblinka. “It’ll be fine”.
Consequences of double crossing an agent can be high. Some people never think about who will be the last person they see.
Those Bengauzi CIA agents had to come from somewhere and disappear somewhere after the incident. They were all in field agents. Punishing the head by exposing him would certainly get the message to the underlings!
Sounds like Snowden is a patriot in comparison ;-)
No one is up in arms, because everyone is now a either an individualist, libertarian, isolationist, an idiot, or all of the above.
Just ask a random person what’s going on in Ukraine or with China. No one knows or seems to care.
Everyone is so self-absorbed and only interested in the Kardashian’s instead of real, important issues.
Bush was a wimp, that’s why.
Boney and his RINObuddies are wimps, too.
I wouldn’t worry, I’m pretty sure all taxes were collected last week, and all benefit checks went out... that’s all that matters to the masses.
“I think the CIA outing is connected to Benghazi”
I think it’s a warning to anyone who thinks they should cooperate with any of the investigations against the criminals in the White House.
Better not talk, or you’re life is in danger next.
I'd be willing to give up NYC if it would bring Obunghole down. Imagine the monument we could build in its place.
Because Joe McCarthy was correct.
