DENVER (AP) — Colorado's Civil Rights Commission on Friday ordered a baker to make wedding cakes for same-sex couples, finding his religious objections to the practice did not trump the state's anti-discrimination statutes.

The unanimous ruling from the seven-member commission upheld an administrative law judge's finding in December that Jack Phillips violated civil rights law when he refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple in 2012. The couple sued.

"I can believe anything I want, but if I'm going to do business here, I'd ought to not discriminate against people," Commissioner Raju Jaram said.

If someone tells me they object to being paid to prepare food for me because there is something about me they do not like, then I absolutely do NOT want that person preparing food for me.

It's not about food, it's about raw power.

Would you prefer chocolate or our premium fudge packer icing for your cake?

And the separation of spirituality from society continues. That’s the goal here: go to church on Sunday, fine, just don’t bring your beliefs into society. Just shut up about it.

It’s immoral, illogical, irrational and inhuman.

A pile of feces is undoubtedly sexually exciting to sodomites.

And where does the Colorado’s Civil Rights Commission get authority to violate the baker’s first amendment rights?

Give them a written notice that 100% of the proceeds of their purchase shall be donated to a cause to cure sodomites of their perversion.

Use those terms.

The donation will be in their name.

Brilliant!

Thank you!

They’ll organize a boycott and it will be win-win.

But it’s perfectly fine for someone to say “please don’t bring your guns inside our business”.

You might be able to force him to comply, but you can’t make him do the job well.

I don't know - the government has a lot of men with guns who have nothing better to do than to show up at the bakery for a no-knock raid if the baker uses substandard frosting.

That is a really good suggestion, and if it doesn’t make an impression, they can always announce a dollar matching donation, so that a $50.00 gay cake results in a $100.00, (or whatever it takes to win the argument) donation.

ado's Civil Rights Commission on Friday ordered a baker to make wedding cakes...

The new slavery.

How is this different than ordering the person into the fields to pick cotton?

Is a whipping next? Oh, sorry... that's for the honeymoon.
