Ideological purity isn’t the enemy of victory.

It’s more like a feature of immaturity.

Sure a Conservative or a Constitutionalist might vote for a candidate with whom he is in .... O say .... 85% agreement, especially if the candidate sweeps a primary.

The trouble with Haley B and Johnny Boehner is that their numbers are down to about 60% for Haley, and 40% with Johnny.

The Establishment GOP's idea of "compromise" = "surrender."

The RINO's have moved too far to the left in their lucrative compromise with the other party. They claim that they are in "the middle of the road," when it would be far more accurate to say that they are on the wrong side of the double yellow line.

What worries me the most is a guy like Mitch McConnell. Sure he's been "scared straight" for his primary. But if he retakes his seat, this is just the kind of SOB that is going to open up his compromise shop with the Left and just keep his business going as usual.

Furthermore, why should the voters elect a left-leaning double-dealin' SOB like him, when for the same vote they can get a real Democrat?

The enemy of establishment RINO victory perhaps. Fade into the night, Barbour. You’re as bad as Brewer.

Politics is the art of the possible. Haley is correct about that....BUT he is dead wrong when it comes to the need for a more ideologically pure and moral base upon which to begin that “possibility” making.

Primary fights are all ABOUT defining the party. If not there, where? If not then, when?

As the Democrat party moves deeper and deeper into the abyss of national socialism, we conservatives must move our party back to FREE MARKETS, JUDEO-CHRISTIAN ETHICS, and STRENGTH.

Succumb to Cultural Marxism in order to win elections, no thanks. People who embrace moderates and democrats are just Cthulhu admirers.

Haley is pretty good for a Mississippian at spouting hot air. Most of them though are quiet, meek, and status-quo oriented, which is what Haley really prefers in fellow citizens.

Yep. They are foolish enough to believe they can replace conservative votes, with newly minted US citizens.

Hillary should write each one of the GOPe’s a thank you note,
as she will carry all 50 states, as a result.

Am I the ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERS???

The last time we ran a real conservative, we only won 49 states.

I finally figured out that if I wanted to influence Senator Cochran on a particular vote instead of calling his office I should give the Barbour lobbying firm a half mil and have them contact him.

I don’t demand purity. I do, however, demand that a candidate support the Second Amendment, the rule of law, and progress toward a constitutional government constrained by the enumerated powers. If we’re just debating how quickly to complete the transition to a socialist dictatorship in which FedGov has absolute power, I’m not interested in playing.

Limited government is the foundation of freedom. The rule of law (which includes refusing to reward criminals who enter our country illegally) is necessary to maintain limited government. As for the Second Amendment, it is necessary to the security of a free State. I’m flexible on many issues, but not on those fundamentals.

Ahhh, but if you dare challenge the Ruling Class Establishment’s candidate, who goes to war on Conservatives but treats Marxists with kid gloves, admiration and compromise - then YOU will be declare to be a ‘purist’ who is an ‘enemy’ of victory which by extension makes you an enemy of the GOP.

Now put the declaration of war that McConnell made upon Conservatives and does ANYONE get the picture yet?

Conservatism has NO PLACE in the GOP. It is not welcome there.

But if you dare not hold your nose and vote for the Ruling Class stooge foisted upon the base, you will be declared the reason why the GOP continues to lose.

"Barbour, as well as the rest of the GOP establishment, has no clue as to how to advance the conservative agenda. Instead, what we have here is immediate capitulation, groveling and apologizing for being conservative, and accepting the Left's narrative and premise.

You lay out conservative principles, people will wise up and see that you are correct and join your side. This is why the Left always whine that Republicans are "too far to the right"...if true then why not just let Republicans be the fire-breathing conservatives that they are perceived to be and they'll lose, right?

No, because the Left KNOWS that conservatism works and is a winner everywhere it's been tried. Hence the narrative that the GOP needs to "move to the middle," or some other bovine feces.

It's not ideological purity at all, it's called beliefs and principles and conservative principles simply aren't up for debate or to be compromised with.

Exactly!

In his defense - everyone promised it would be the only time it ever happened.

I didn’t agree with Reagan at the time and I was very young. That and some of his judges were terrible decisions.

But I would be happy to vote for Reagan again. He wasn’t perfect but he was pretty good.

No. The GOP needs to stand for something.

To ask most Republicans what the GOP stands for would elicit a response similar to that of Hillary Clinton's accomplishments.

Yeah, they would give the smaller government, lower taxes, small business support, yada yada yada. They have not 'stood' on those since Reagan.
