Across Lafayette Park, facing the White House, sits an imposing stone structure, framed by ornate Corinthian columns and comprising a significant chunk of a full city block. It is home to the Chamber of Commerce of the United States of America, the historic bastion of American business and industry.
Since its founding slightly more than a century ago, the chamber has engaged in countless issues from keeping unions in check to job training and tax reform.
But increasingly, the chamber is straying from its original principles, and there is no greater example than its supporting amnesty for illegal immigrants.
The national chamber is one of the nation's loudest advocates for amnesty for people who broke the law entering the U.S.
Chamber President Tom Donohue even went so far as to warn the Republican Party on May 12 not to bother running a candidate for president in 2016 absent support from the congressional GOP for immigration "reform," a term that has become synonymous with amnesty in recent months.
Why the chamber and other business interests support amnesty so vociferously is quizzical. The conventional wisdom is that business wants cheap labor. It's a cynical argument but one that contains a grain of logic, and cheap labor would certainly be one of the byproducts of amnesty.
But the future economic and political fallout of amnesty is anathema to business and industry. Bigger government, unsustainable federal spending, a growing welfare state and an electorate to perpetuate it hold the potential to doom the free-market system that the chamber has historically encouraged.
Amnesty would be a disaster for the federal budget. The taxpayer cost of amnesty for the estimated 11.5 million illegal immigrants currently in the U.S. is a staggering $6.3 trillion, according to a 2013 Heritage Foundation study.

The Chamber of Communists
Cheap, mobile, docile labor. Next question?
Business wants an over supply of cheap, low skilled labor. Off the books = no workers comp, social security, etc.
Even though Dems see it as browning out the country to give a permanent Dem majority, their ranks are the ones most hurt by all of the illegals.
Cheap labor.
Plus general wage suppression resulting from greatly increased H-1B visas.
Complete lack of patriotism.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Follow the money...
Bastards.
The Chamber of Commerce has joined the long list of organizations that I treat as I would the Nazi Party and the Klan. They are enemies of all I value and cannot be trusted in any situation.
Our entire economy has for the last generation been built on tearing American industry from the grip of Americans.
Massive US manufacturing interests have sold out their entire American operations, and now are completely stocked by nothing but communist Chinese. Who are paid, instead of Americans. The America workers, now are paid by the US state for not working.
What industry has been left in America, is done wherever possible by illegal immigrants.
Our entire manufacturing system has been sold out.
Bring back US industry.
Got that right.
Amnesty will bite them in the butt, as soon as illegals get work permits or citizenship they will expect to get at least the new minimum wage the libs want- what is it $15 an hour? No more off the books evading worker's comp, SS, etc. Of course the solution will be to keep the border open so more illegals can flood in to work for the businesses that still want cheap labor. Rinse and repeat just like the last amnesty and all the amnesty lites that have been done in the past.
heres a thought:
call em and ask em why they are supporting amnesty.
Supporting?
Ramming is the word she should use.
Because they are corrupt. Perhaps that heads are blackmailed.
The members of the Chamber of Commerce already employ illegals. They just don’t want to be caught doing it before they get a law passed.
They want to charge what the market will bear and get their labor for $2 an hour, plus dilute middle class votes. They don’t call em the Chamber of Commies for nothing.
