Why is the federal gummint soooooo interested in having these drones in Los Angeles..?
It seems they are emplacing a large and expensive federal surveillance apparatus all over the country.
Same as ammo/MRAP build-up..?
Ahhhh, “federal grants.” I just love free money. Where can I get some?

If memory serves me correctly, Seattle bought them to use here, but there was such an uproar from citizens that the city council nixed the idea.
LAPD has actually been flying helicopters at close to current numbers since the mid-70s. I personally would rather have them there than not.
They are encouraging public input on this issue. It’s a little difficult, for me at least, to see how these drones are going to drastically alter the Air Support Division’s mission statement.
Yeah, Seattle bought them but our local - mostly libs - raised an outcry. You know how we welcome the creeping fascism but apparently we have a lot of NIMBYs here.
