President Barack Obama kicked off a campaign to promote new restrictions on U.S. power plant emissions on Saturday by tying the fight against climate change with efforts to promote better health for children and the elderly.
In his weekly radio address, Obama said the United States had to do more to reduce carbon emissions so that children suffering from asthma and other related ailments did not face further problems as a result of polluted air.
Obama said the new guidelines would reduce smog and soot that threaten vulnerable populations such as the young and the aged and he said up to 100,000 asthma attacks and 2,100 heart attacks would be avoided in the first year the standards went into force.

Let me first say I don’t believe in this climate change crap, and frankly wouldn’t care even if it was true, because if it is true WE ARE NOT THE PROBLEM...countries like China are.
Government central planning for power plants is like government central planning for veteran’s health (VA).
The global warming stuff is irrelevant to me in these types of discussions.
I’ve just never understood why everyone isn’t outraged about companies polluting air and water that ends up harming America’s citizens and shortening our lives.
If a company gets caught knowingly dumping toxins into the air and/or water they should suffer enormous consequences.
Asthma is way up over the last 50 years years, although part of the blame for this must be placed on our overuse of antibacterial products, such as hand sanitizers.
We could have had nice superclean American coal to burn, but BJ Clinton took that offline in exchange for a campaign contribution.
Obamacare is far and away a bigger health hazard to Americans than “climate change”..... too bad he’s not interested in doing away with that.
The US has the cleanest burning coal, best burn technology and massive power distribution infrastructure. Barry would like to louse this up like he’s done with our health care.
You have to give the radical leftist President the credit for pushing his stupid agenda ever forward. I wish we could get a conservative president who will push just as hard.

Obama & the EPA are taking food off of EVERY ONE’s table. The carbon dioxide is a basic requirement for plants to grow.
You can’t fool Mother Nature.
I am still waiting for the “community organizers” who advocate that human activity is causing meaningful changes to the climate to show what the average climate is, and whether our present climate is below or above this average. But alas, there appears to be no appetite for this key metric.
This should not come as a surprise especially when it is recalled that the vast majority of demands, suggestions and recommendations that accompany what passes for climate science all rapidly converge on statism, collectivism and the destruction of personal liberal and the resulting suppression of prosperity. This madness is not science, it is a form of gaia worship. It is a shame that so many otherwise brilliant and supposedly secular people are so duped by the oldest religion in human experience.
