The chairman of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology charged Thursday that reports from the United Nations and the White House on the threat of global climate change appear to be designed to spread fear and alarm in an effort to provide the Obama administration with an excuse to control more of the lives of the American people.

an excuse to control more of the lives of the American people.

That sounds like a good theme for Republicans to use for the next presidential campaign. So I doubt they’ll use it. ;)
As I have posted before but bears repeating by myself and others on the Right...
The issue is not global warming. The issue is the CAUSE of global warming. The claim that there is such a thing as global warming is not necessarily invalid. The flawed argument is, We have a global warming problem and, therefore, government must do whatever it has to do [more interference with individuals freedoms] to stop it. Its a flawed argument because it contains an unproven and flawed stealth presumption that man must be the cause of global warming.
The Left wants the debate kept at whether theres global warming. We need to turn the debate away from that somewhat silly argument. The argument about scientific data and evidence of whether or not "global warming" exists can go on from now 'till Moses. (The Bible does indicate a warm-up and a rising sea in the last days.) It is really beside the point. The more the Right argues this wrong point, the sillier the Right potentially looks and the stronger this oft-unspoken presumption of man-made causes seems to get.
Instead, the Right needs to steer the debate to where the real point is: THE CAUSE. As there may be some debate about whether theres global warming, theres no real true, scientific debate that man is causing global warming. Arguments need to be advanced to first get this somewhat stealth presumption "out" into the open and then to defeat this Leftist excuse for more government tyranny over our lives. It should be fairly easy to win the debate over this really silly presumed notion.
Phoney baloney reports compiled for a phoney baloney President.
H&11 to the Phoney-in-Chief
Yeah, they might win.
Well some one inside the beltway has it right.
That’s exactly the problem. The Republicans never really play to win, and so they are easily outclassed and manipulated by the devious Democrats who view politics as bloodsport. They play to win at all costs.
Like the UN gun ban?
A fatal flaw on the right is accepting the left's premise on anything as the basis for a discussion.
"In a recent study by the Al Gore's Consensus is the Path Group, it has been reported that based on data collected at numerous Northern Hemisphere sites between late June and December of 2013 that we are losing daylight hours at an alarming pace. As a result, the report recommends a massive increase in federal and state gasoline taxes to achieve necessary reductions in wasteful driving. This will allow us to grow the energy reserves that will be desperately needed in coming years to provide lighting in a increasingly dark world."
It is hard, no almost impossible, for some people to get over being ignorant and stupid. Such people are currently in government and Obama and his cult are lying regularly about the climate and that it is up to them (government) to correct this fictitious situation.
“...not even a smidgeon”
The left does not want a discussion, they want to lecture.
and they will rely on false science.
There’s a thread running today that explains how the population of polar bears was intentionally underestimated because of “pubic expectation.”
Don't get caught up in all of the small details and look at the big picture. The leftists, socialists, cronies, and power hungry totalitarian types will use our own system of government as a weapon against us, to our own demise.
The rule of law is no longer the rule of law when it has been usurped by the enemy within, and used to eliminate any opposition and crush any dissent.
There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998
