Chairman: UN, White House Climate Reports ‘an Excuse to Control the American People’

The chairman of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology charged Thursday that reports from the United Nations and the White House on the threat of global climate change “appear to be designed to spread fear and alarm” in an effort to provide the Obama administration with “an excuse to control more of the lives of the American people.”

Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas), the committee’s ranking member, countered that the real objective of this hearing wasn’t to study the IPCC’s methodology but “to try to undercut the IPCC and to cast doubt on the validity of climate change research.”

He says that like its a bad thing.

I agree absolutely with what you say. Solar flare ups have happened all throughout earths history.

Obama? Is from the cult that we are a consumer society and consume the bulk of the energy sources. Fact is we and the G7 are the most developed nations, thus have a requirement for the resources.

As we can see, we now have the G20, the new developing nations who want to come on stream. Each one of them have zero concerns about using coal. Just look at China and India alone! Do you think they are concerned?

Why whould the blame for global warming rest on the US? Why should the US be force to pay for it in its many forms?

They're changing the title to "climate change", but still want to blame man-made carbon emissions. DON'T necessarily concede the global warming argument if you've got good backup, but DON'T wait to show that man is not the cause of climate change, whether it is warming or cooling. Behind this is the Obama-supported U.N. Agenda 21 "sustainability" justification for national and global tyranny. Need to nip this sucker in the bud now by arguing against the Leftist fantasies of man-made causes of climate change and lack of earth "sustainability."

I didn’t mean to imply that Republicans should be like the Dems. I went back and looked at my post and realized that it was somewhat “inartful”. What I intended to say was that, in the presidential election, the Republican candidate should hammer Dems for their ever increasing attempts to control the lives of the American people. I think that would be an effective tactic as most people detest the idea of being manipulated and deceived.
