The owner of a bakery in Lakewood said he will no longer sell wedding cakes after the Colorado Civil Rights Commission ruled he did discriminate against a gay couple when he refused to sell them a cake.
"We would close down the bakery before we would complicate our beliefs," Phillips said after the hearing, according to CBS Denver. Phillips also admitted he had refused service to other same-sex couples.
The commission also ordered the baker to submit quarterly reports about the customers he refuses to serve and retrain employees to serve everyone.

Not just ridiculous, but overwhelmingly stupid. It’s amazing people are paid to serve on a commission who are this stupid - and you have to be very stupid to come up with a decision like that.
Here’s an option — continue making wedding cakes with the tiers and all and make it a “decorate your own” kinda thing. A basic frosted cake where you can put any schlocky thing you want on top — but YOU do it at home. But, then, I guess that is still bending to the edict.
We have to see if the homosexual activists start suing churches over homosexual marriage.
We’re normalizing homosexual marriage in our civil law. But to my knowledge, no mainstream religions perform homosexual marriages.
So, will the activists leave churches alone, or will they sue churches for discrimination if they don’t do homosexual weddings?
I’ve heard some say that churches will avoid the issue by only doing weddings for their own members in good standing. But, the activists could easily plant homosexuals as members of churches, hide their orientation, then come out of the closet and demand that their clergyman marry them.
I don’t know how far the activists will push this. Time will tell.
The baker is apparently going to "stand tall," and refuse to be reduced to the status of a robot, carrying out the wishes of bureaucratic masters. Hopefully, he will find a way to compensate for what he loses at the hands of the tyrants in the new Colorado.
William Flax
Indeed it is.
I’d do the same.
No one is going to tell me what I have to support or recognize or service.
I’ll go in and support him. (As an aside to all Colorado FReepers, his shop is right next door to Peking Tokyo - the world’s greatest Chinese food.)
Their cake designs are so beautiful!
I hope instead of “wedding cakes” they decide to make “Genesis cakes”, with this verse in the design
Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.
Anyone who chooses to buy a Genesis cake design should be freely served
“Phillips also admitted he had refused service to other same-sex couples.”
I love the way facists use words to imply some sort of wrongdoing. The reporter writes that the baker “admitted” refusing service to other homos.
Why stop there? Why not say the baker “confessed” to refusing service to other degenerate scum.
New tagline...
Yes.
Given the history of gay activism, such as this baker, we know that gays specifically go into a group or business then ACT UP and then demand that their behavior be treated as normal. And if the group or business does not acquiese to their demands, then they file lawsuits. gay SOP.
So I expect to see this in churches at some point.
Over the last many years, we have seen them come into our church, sit quietly, and take notes. They pick up the church directory and other materials. No disturbances yet though, that I know of. They may be using the church directory to target individuals and their businesses.
Heh.
In Ga lots of churches make you sign when you join - to include the church can make you a non-member and erase previous membership [like you were never a member] for going against their rules.
When i moved and joined a new church, I was quite taken back by this. This had a lot to do with it.
Segregated frosting. Sorry, no go.
What country do we live in? It sure isn't the United States. For the homos, pride goeth before a fall. People are getting very tired of dealing with temper tantrum throwing children in adult bodies (as well as the robed black crows). Pretty soon a judge will rule that if someone has a party and doesn't invite everyone on his street he is guilty of something.
