Has Russia gone rogue?
Information revealed last week indicates that it has, and that because of the reckless weakness of Barack Obama, America now faces a neo-Soviet Russian bear primed for aggression, just as in the era of the USSR.
Last week, the spokesman for the Russian Investigative Committee, Vladimir Markin, announced that Russia is now a vigilante nation. He stated: And if not a single state in the world is capable of admitting the evident facts that Ukrainian authorities have been acting as criminals, Russias Investigative Committee will shoulder this responsibility by opening a criminal case.
o in other words, Russia will act alone to arrest and punish leaders of foreign governments whom it declares guilty of crimes, no matter what the rest of the world may think about it. This from a nation that routinely demands that the U.S. bow to international organizations in places like Syria.
In the Wall Street Journal, seasoned Russia expert Leon Aron of the American Enterprise Institute took a crack at analyzing this new brand of neo-Soviet Russian exceptionalism. He highlighted how Putin has disturbingly offered comments tending to imply the superiority of the Russian race, comments hes been offering the world for years now. Aron feels that Putins recent rhetoric harks back to Russia's two most reactionary rulers: the 19th-century czars Nicholas I and his grandson, Alexander III.

We may be in big trouble if Russia (Putin) has gone rogue.
We have a mental midget in charge here and IMO Putin is probably smarter than the Czars were and he has more raw power than they had as well.
When it comes to pure evil though I’d be leery of saying Putin was worse than our guy...so, yup..we got troubles.
Didn’t killing plane full of Polish officials a few years ago kind of make that obvious?
Russia's still trying to recover from what Josef Stalin did to them as a people- the Russian psyche has yet to recover from the fear and paranoia that Lenin and Stalin created.
Ironically, it appears that Russia is now the Defender of Christianity in the world, while the U.S. has gone totally atheist and mocks Christianity at every turn. However, I'm not moving to Russia for this reason: In the 1930's, a bunch of American Socialists moved to the USSR because they thought they were in the vanguard of civil rights and social justice....when they got there, they realized they were in a Gulag and their dreams were all a lie. They tried to get out, but the U.S. Ambassador didn't want to save a bunch of Communists who turned their back on America and now were whining to them to take them back. Many wound up being executed in the Stalin Purges.
The point is this: Russia SEEMS to be a vanguard of Christianity now, but when you get there it might still be the 3rd world craphole the Socialists found when they turned their back on America in the 1920's and '30's.
Putin senses weakness in Obama, and correctly so.
This has greatly emboldened him, along with our other adversaries around the world which have reached the same conclusion.
When Putin decides to take his newfound confidence up to the next level, there is no way Obama will deter him. Putin knows this and sees a green light ahead to do whatever he wants. The real fear is that others will jump on the same bandwagon against us.
We are unquestionably losing our grip and influence in the world. For Obama, this is Mission Accomplished.
It is not “Russia.”
It is the neo-USSR, or, we should say, the EUSSR.
This is all part of the plan to create an EU controlled by the soviets while the ChiComs control the pacific arena.
These two competing forces will crush America which is already on the way to a third-world status.
And Obammie the Commie is all a part of the plan. This is what he meant when his open mic caught him saying he’d have more flexibility after the election. That flexibility meant in helping Putin to reclaim the satellite nations that went ‘independent’ after the mock break up of the USSR. Keep in mind that 11 of those countries were quietly and quickly taken over by KGB agents. One country did not. Georgia. And we see what the EUSSR did to them.
This is part of Obammie the Commie’s plan in destroying America and imposing a socialist New World Order over the globe.
Two events shattered the US Communists in the 20th Century: The Khrushchev Report, which exposed Stalin's genocide and oppression. The second was the fall of Eastern Europe and the USSR.
Bottom line is that US has hijacked a Comintern vehicle from the Russians who got a Jim Crow America in return there.
Luckily for America, the American spirit still lives underground, unluckily for Russia, communism is still fuming too.
All very well put and true.
We got troubles...right here in River City! Trouble, trouble, trouble!
If by “going rogue” you mean not kowtowing to the Western globalist elites, yes they are. I think Putin is perfectly aware of who is running things here and in Europe and wants no part of it. He may be a thug, but he’s a Russian patriot, and he’s not selling his country out to the NWO.
What kind of Christianity is he defending? It is one he controls completely; it is an alien form of Christianity to the American heritage of Thomas Jefferson and George Mason, which wanted no state control over religion.
What choice do WE have?
We can choose a large heartless Godless bureaucracy run by arrogant mind-numbed morons for the benefit of the party apparatchiks, or we can choose Russia.
This is the first time I have heard of this since it happened. Thank you for the reminder.
The real enemy is islam. With minimal differences Russia and China are as vulnerable as we are.
With a new (and decent) president, I don’t see a problem in doing business with Russia. We simply have to ACCEPT that Russia will do what they feel they need to do in their backyard, and perhaps we can TAKE A HINT and do the same here.
So you think that because Obama is rogue that Putin is not rogue? In that case, you don’t oppose rogue you just oppose Obama. I suggest we should be against both of these statist, narcissistic loons.
The only religion Putin supports is the Russian Orthodox church, which is the de facto state religion in Russia. Other Christians are ruthlessly suppressed, including Catholics and evangelicals. Just today, Kyiv Patriarchate Church attacked in Crimea http://khpg.org/index.php?id=1401631140
You choose treason if you choose Putin. I oppose them both.
"Russia expert Leon Aron of the American Enterprise Institute"
The man is a NeoCon and AEI is a NeoCon think tank.
Which NeoCon should we listen to, John McCain or Leon Aron? They are all the same.
The NeoCons have never been right about anything and the mess they got us in during the Bush years disqualifies anything the NeoCons think or say.
Best post of the thread.
Eurovision 2014 winner Conchita Wurst is the poster child of Globalism and the sodomite EU.
No wonder Russia has gone rogue.
Treason either way. The EU is just as bent on global control as the Soviets were.
“The NeoCons have never been right about anything and the mess they got us in during the Bush years disqualifies anything the NeoCons think or say. “
Peace through Strength is the only deterrence to international tyrants.
In reality it is the isolationists that think they can ignore the reality of evil, that get a hundred million people killed during WWII.
Russian Orthodoxy has been referred to as “Christianity’s dark side”.
State religions & dictatorships often partner together well. The religion justifies the despot’s rule, the despot protects the religion’s monopoly.
With this sham of a prisoner exchange, absolutely.
We are members of NATO, and not because we see Europe as Russia’s “back yard” as you do.
All because the US overthrew the government in Ukraine. We should keep our noses out of other countries affairs.
Have Russia and THE US PRESIDENT Gone Rogue? FIXED AND FIXED AGAIN!
“We are members of NATO, and not because we see Europe as Russias back yard as you do.”
It’s either their “back yard” or it’s World War 3, at least with Putin. Given that, they can have what’s rightfully theirs.
If using the word "rightfully" makes you feel better, then use it. Just remember that others know what the word actually means.
So you are merely expressing fear and a desire to surrender to strong men.
“All because the US overthrew the government in Ukraine.”
You’re living in a fantasy world, not unlike nutjobs AlexJones and RonPaul.
“So you are merely expressing fear and a desire to surrender to strong men.”
...as opposed to starting WW3 in support of a bunch of people that are basically terrorists - then yes.
Just like Libya and Syria.
Climb down off the ledge, the choices aren’t between surrendering to Putin, or being destroyed in WWIII.
That level of threat won’t exist, until he finishes rebuilding the evil empire if the free world doesn’t put the brakes on him.
I still don’t understand your plan. We let Russia pound East Germany (in 1948), Hungary (in 1956), and Czechoslovakia (in 1968). We didn’t feel it was worth starting WW3 back then - why do you feel the need to start it now.
...and yes, I cannot stand Obama, and I don’t mind Republicans beating him up over Ukraine (he deserves it), but at the end of the day, be it Obama, McCain, Romney, or Reagan, Putin will do what he wishes in his neighborhood and there ain’t a damn thing we’re going to do to stop it.

I don’t believe that someone who keeps talking as though the discussion is about launching WWIII and keeps confusing the current Russia with the Soviet Empire’s vast war machine, is clearly out of touch with reality, and even the current status of Russia.
I agree, I don’t think that’s the case either.
Thank you, I’m through on this.
You might be referring to my reversed meaning, I hope that you could understand the actual point of the post.
I dont believe that someone who keeps talking as though the discussion is about launching WWIII and keeps confusing the current Russia with the Soviet Empires vast war machine, is in touch with reality, and the current status of Russia.
Your fear doesn’t let you and Obama see clearly that your weakness is the danger, and there is no “WWIII” in the equation at all.
“Has Russia Gone Rogue?”
Quite a few centuries ago.
Even a clock is right a couple of times a day. And here McCain is correct. Ukraine is a good cause to support and the economic sanctions appear to have worked, as Russia did not invade the East.
By the way, expressing support for a nation under attack by Russian policy of annexation and destabilization, logically, is not “the US overthrowing the government in Ukraine.”
That is non factual hyperbole.
Not just with Putin.
With every Russian commander trained under the Russian military academies since the Crimean war.
But you have a lot of Americans who are too stupid to comprehend that now matter how many classic Russian military texts you show them.
Some of these idiots are officers, which helps show how we got whew we are.
So what? In China, they think they are the rightful hegemonic power to liberate Native Americans in the US and avenge their great ancestors.
What Russians think and are taught is irrelevant to anybody but Russians and is certainly no formulated argument in itself, to give them a right to any lands.
