Flow of border immigrants overwhelming agencies

... The flow of Central and South Americans through South Texas has become an unmanageable torrent within the past month, overwhelming the Border Patrol, and the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which is charged with placing thousands of unaccompanied minors who have been arrested.

"We are being overwhelmed," said U.S. Border Patrol Agent Christopher Cabrera, vice president of National Border Patrol Council Local 3307. "We have groups of 70, 80, 90 people just walking up and turning themselves in. They're finding the first agent and saying take me in and let me have my walking papers.

"If we don't get some help soon, it's going to be disastrous," he said.

Academics, advocates and government officials have struggled to pinpoint a cause for the steep influx.

For years, the number of people trying to come in over the southern border has been measured by the number of people arrested.

This is never been a reliable measure, not even when Bush43 was in office.

These newest mojados are central and south Americans, not Mexicans-crime and political unrest in those countries is the norm...

I actually don’t know anyone who can afford to hire out yard and domestic work-we do our own out here, and illegals are NOT welcome here-ranchers and other small business owners have la migra on speed dial...

"Time to militarize the border"

That's not going to happen because Clinton sent the Marines down there and they ended up killing a Mexican-American teen boy who was grazing goats.

What about the national guard? Gov Brewer(AZ) and/or Perry(TX) can call out their guard but they have to pay for it and they don't want to.

They want the Prez to call out the guard because the feds and the other states have to pay for it. Bush sent the guard to the border and many states complained that they should not be paying to do something the feds and the border states should be paying for.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! That's a real funny. Yep, uh huh. For real they can't figure this out or do they think we're that gullible? Apparently we are that gullible since we elected them once, twice, thrice and so many are lifetime office holders.

As a Texan, I want to know why Rick Perry does not send the National Guard to our border? As I mentioned in a post a few days ago, electing conservatives here in Texas has not put a dent in our border problems, and I am concerned the TP conservatives will do the same—give lip service to a national tragedy. The bottom line is cheap labor(money) and our elected state reps will not go against big-money.

Sad, but true. It’s only a matter of time.

Like I said, if you’re going to wait around for the feds to do something about
it, then you might as well just surrender your state to mexico, because the feds are going to do absolutely NOTHING about it. Time to cut the fed apron strings, and do what you need to do to protect your State.
