The February announcement that Arsenio Halls syndicated late-night show would return for a second season turned out to be both premature and mistaken. CBS Television Distribution, which owns the show with Tribune Media, has announced a cancellation because of a ratings decline among the viewers most advertisers pay for in late night, people between the ages of 18 and 49.

thank God....hopefully they return to Seinfeld reruns at night...
Excellent episode of “Turn” last night. The British started a witch hunt for rebel spies among the loyalists, rounded up all the guns, built gallows in the middle of town, and started dragging people from their homes in the middle of the night.
Thanks for the mention. I hadn’t noticed this program yet. I’ll check it out.
Things that make you go “Hmmm”
Next Sunday is the season Finale. Jame Riley wrote a a great critique of the show. We need more historically based TV like this.
I think Arsenio has already had his big moment back in the 1990’s. Neither he or his pal Eddie Murphy have kicked up much dust since then. Arsenio had gotten into only having black guests on for most of the time.
Arsenio & Old Late-Nite
Nothing lasts forever..Arsenio had his time in the sun.
Well maybe ‘racism’ lasts forever in the minds of leftists.
Yes, I like the review. I bookmarked the program and will be going back later today to watch some of it on my 3D TV. Can’t wait...
It’s obvious that his viewers didn’t desert him because they had to get up early to go to work or anything.
You really need to watch from the beginning to get an idea of what’s going on. After all the show is about deception so little is as it seems.
No Sexist, homophobic. I think he should ask all of the gay community why they did not support a broth................,er sister in arms.
Arsenio had gotten into only having black guests on for most of the time.”
Flipped through channels available via non-cable. Most are Spanish, focus on gay lifestyle or have Black actors/actresses/hosts.
Except for Tuesday evening when NCIS and Person of Interest are on and an occasional Castle, not much need to have TV any more.
” not much need to have TV any more.”
PBS has some marvelous shows. “Inspector Banks”,”Inspector Goerge Gentley”,”Call the Midwife”,and “The Bletchley Circle”.
I think, it’s the unintended consequence of this constant drumming coming from the white House and his media about race.
It’s now become nothing more than preaching to the choir...the black choir.
There’s always the pMSNBC route for him to go.
Thanks for the mention. At the link they have the shows set up so you can start at the beginning. I will. Looks good...
“Nothing lasts forever..Arsenio had his time in the sun.”
Well, he could always try going on Dancing with the Stars - with all other has beens trying to relaunch their careers.
He already did the Celebrity Apprentice.
Of he can follow famous gay music stars and run for office.
I’ve found myself looking deeper into history of the characters on the show. The main characters were real people. One of my favorites was an enemy but Robert Rogers was a huge contributor to pre revolution America. Even today our military uses Rogers Rules. On the show he’s played By Angus McFayden who is really great.
Thanks for the info but I don’t do PBS.
Someone was talking about Rogers a few days ago. Perhaps it was you. I’ll pay special attention to his character.
I think it’s great when a show causes the viewers to want to know more about the characters from history.
Doc Martin, Selfridge, Downton Abby ....
“Thanks for the info but I dont do PBS.”
I understand your reasoning but I feel intelligent enough to separate the wheat from the chaff, and I’m sure you are too.
I won’t deprive myself of good entertainment just to prove a point.
“Doc Martin, Selfridge, Downton Abby ....”
FYI,one of my favorite pieces of clothing is a coat I bought at Selfridge’s about 20 years ago. It’s still in good shape.
Is Arsinio retartet enough for the show’s target demo? Maybe if yelled out “WORLD STAR” he would get more ratings.
Thinking back to my wasted youth, I caught a couple of episodes of his "new" show. What was "hip" and "edgy" in 1990 - now, almost 25 years later, is just "sad" and "pathetic".
But, it's probably racist to notice such things. So, you're ultimately right.
Does Arsenio have a “wasting” disease? He looks terribly thin and his reactions seem somehow delayed. It was very painful to watch . . . for the 2 1/2 minutes I gave him about a month ago.
I liked it better than that old crank Letterman. Arsenio seems like a nice guy,
I used to think it was a dormitory at Cleveland State Univ....
