If there are 180 of them, they are not in geosynchronous orbit at 25000 miles. They are much lower, probably around 100-150 miles up, as Iridium was. There will be very low latency and high throughput. The routing of data and interaction between the birds will be the hurdle to overcome, much of it has been with Iridium. I wonder if, like Iridium, before sunrise or after sunset, you’ll be able to see a flash from the solar panels as it moves across the sky almost every day.

As Iridium is, I should say. The system is still in service.

Looks like there are about 70 Iridium and 40 globalstar satellites - probably in the same neighborhood. 180 is a lot of satellites.

Google is evil

That is why I have switched everything but one of my email addresses. Pale Moon which uses Duck Duck Go as a search engine.

There already is satellite internet connections covering the entire planet. I know because I work in that industry. They are just darn expensive. Google might make it cheaper but I doubt most mud huts are going to get broadband.

Iridium is still up there. It is NOT low latency. Trust me.

I’m using Komodo Dragon. it works great but I’m not totally sold on it yet. Too much intertwined with Google.
