Gennady Zyuganov (head of the Communist Party of Russia)at the meeting with journalists on Monday made several constructive ideas: the introduction of a no-fly zone, border control and cross-border corridors for Russian volunteers, riding on Donbass.
"We have a full right member of the security Council to declare a no-fly zone over this territory and to contribute to any military objects, which will appear on this territory, were eliminated," he said.
He added that this must be done for the security of the local population. "To watch them from planes shot of the city and civilians, to look at the faces of the elderly, the children's eyes is impossible without trembling, of fear," said Zyuganov.
According to him, this would ensure that "any military objects, which will appear on this territory, were eliminated".
The Russians are being VERY vocal about this, citing that this airstrike happened just hours after Derek Cholet, Obama's Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, arrived in Kiev.
The "No-Fly Zone" chorus has been rising all day, but this is the first quote about it from a Russian Official.

It’s time to suspend Russia’s membership in the United Nations, boot Russia off of the U.N. Security Council, and begin shooting down Russian aircraft within Ukrainian air space, including the Crimea.

So, what you are saying is that Russia will initiate a “World-wide Nuclear War” if the Euro-Atlantic defensive alliance does not allow itself to be intimidated by Russian threats of nuclear war as Russia unlawfully conquers and annexes the independent and sovereign nation of the Ukraine in defiance of every norm of civilized law.
What is interesting about your comments is the way they ignore how the U.S. Air Force engaged Soviet-Russian fighter pilots in combat in Korea and Vietnam without nuclear war ensuing as a consequence. Likewise, the Israeli Air Force engaged Soviet-Russian fighter pilots in combat without nuclear war ensuing.

Looking at the League of Nations and the consequences of the aggressions of the Italians, Japanese, Germans, and Soviet-Russians provides proof the withdrawal and/or expulsion of members of major powers has real precedents that cannot be so easily laughed off. There is a considerable amount of worldwide sentiment that the time is long overdue when the United Nations should live up to its Charter or be replaced along with the aggressors obstructing its promised peacekeeping mission.
Actually, I was laughing at the liberal notion that getting kicked out of the United Nations would be considered a punishment.
Most conservatives I know would welcome having the USA suffer such a fate.
