WH petition to free Marine Tahmooressi from Mexico prison reaches 100K online signatures

A petition on the White House website asking President Obama to demand the release of a Marine sergeant in a Mexico prison has garnered more than 100,000 online signatures -- a threshold that typically elicits an administration response.

“The effect of this unjust incarceration on a decorated combat Marine is despairing,” says the petition, which as of Saturday afternoon had 116,051 signatures.

Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi was arrested March 31 after crossing the Mexican border with three guns in his truck.

Tahmooressi said he accidentally crossed the border and immediately told Mexican authorities that he had three guns in his possession and that he was unable to make a U-turn.

He said he was handcuffed and taken to prison and that his treatment worsened when he tried to escape.

to borrow a quote from a similar CNN story since it's pertinent:

Tahmooressi says, "I just want to say thank you to everyone who has been a part of this and has been helping me and rallying with me and signing my petition," Tahmooressi told CNN. "I can't thank you enough. I thank God for you guys."

This is a soldier that needs to be brought home now. And I don't really care if SF needs to go get him. In fact, they should - what's Mexico going to do? cry and knash their teeth? Put a stop the busloads of immigrants they drive to the border? Order their citizens home? Declare war? (hahahahhahahha). Nothing - they will do nothing.

It's not like we don't already have frequent federale incursions into the USA. Let's make this a two way street then and set things straight.

Why is this hero being left behind by a Zero?

Yeah, but he’s apparently a good soldier, not like the traitor that we gave up the terrorists for. Obambi doesn’t like faithful soldiers . . . only f$%^& traitors.

Well, I just heard the white hut say today that America does not leave her uniformed men and women behind...

Surely the white hut isn’t lying.

Obama will trade terrorists for a deserter, but he won’t even consider having the mexicans return a Marine held for some bullshit charge? Maybe some Marines from camp Pendelton should organize a little raiding party down in mexico to retrieve their fellow Marine, because our useless CiC isn’t going to do anything about it.

The WH has to be petitioned while 0bama frees five terrorists to bring back a deserter responsible for five deaths.

I have heard reports that Obama, hot off his successful negotiations with the Taliban, is offering to take another 20 million Illegals off of the Mexican’s hands if they will release Tahmooressi in October...

If Tahmooressi converted to Islam and made a public denunciation of the U.S. — preferably peppered with a few words in Arabic (Dirka, dirka!) — Obama would have him home within hours.

Tahmooressi said he accidentally crossed the border and immediately told Mexican authorities that he had three guns in his possession and that he was unable to make a U-turn.

He said he was handcuffed and taken to prison and that his treatment worsened when he tried to escape.

Why is not the United States treating people who cross the border illegally in a similar fashion, instead of dropping them off at a bus stop in Arizona? Why does the United States permit deplorable treatment of its citizens in Mexico, while doing quite the opposite to Mexicans who jump the line and enter our country?

maybe so, but to Tahmooressi - knowing how many people have signed the petition could likely be one of the few positive things he can hold onto to keep hope burning.

I hope 100,000 is just a running start; I’d like to see a million signatures by the end of two weeks. Just to bring a smile of pride in his country to a Marine’s face.

Frosts my ass that Obama turns a blind eye to all these illegals entering the US and still won’t lift a finger to threaten Mexico to release this Marine.
