A Chinese general used a regional security conference this weekend to tell a global audience that U.S. rhetoric about the South China Sea risks provoking Beijing.
For the Chinese language audience, the general used language saltier — and perhaps more provocative — words to describe how he feels about U.S. power.

We are in obvious moral, economic & cultural decline. Electing Obama did not help our international standing. The Chinese have no fear of us. If we don’t start electing rational, sane people, and soon, there will be no way back from where we are heading.

Uh, we're "there". We've been headed "there" for 25 years. Because we slept while our domestic enemies maneuvered against us in the '90s and '00s, we now have to deal with the consequences of our apathy. If the Republic survives, I hope our descendants remember the lessons.
