Dan Marino Sues NFL, Says He Was Hurt By Football Concussions
Forbes ^ | 6/2/14 | Dan Diamond

Dan Marino has sued the NFL, claiming that playing professional football left him suffering from concussion-related injuries, Nathan Fenno reports for the Los Angeles Times.

The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia last week, according to the Times. Fourteen other players joined Marino in the suit.

Ah...a big name sues the NFL.

Nice.

Given the league's sudden penchant for celebrating homosexuality, I hope this lawsuit bankrupts the entire corrupt organization.

Marino was let go by CBS this offseason!

IOW, he’s now unemployed!

Rush predicted this not too long ago - along with pro football being taken down by the loony left. Looks like it’s starting.

This is amazing:

RIGHT when Rush said the NFL was about to go all to hell, it did EXACTLY that..!

The process is proceeding with breath-taking speed —accelerating.

Just wow.

The NWO types probably wanted soccer to be the replacement for football, but looks like that's not gonna happen.

Scandals galore in soccer land as well, not to mention the coming nightmare of the Brazilian World Cup, soccer hooliganism, head injuries from bumping the ball off the head, game fixing, Qatar's bribes to get the World Cup on 2022, etc.

Looks like the Official World Sport will have to be Tiddlywinks.

So the concussions caused him to never save any money from 13 years playing, plus endorsements?

OH, SO THAT’S WHY HE NEVER WON A SUPERBOWL!..................

I don't think he ever got hit in the pros. Don Shula babied his quarterbacks. Marino would stand and point at a fumbled ball on the ground rather than cover it.

I agree. I was very opposed to these lawsuits at one point, but Goodell has so ruined the NFL that I hope they have to pay up big time. Goodell seems more concerned about pleasing leftist agitators about homosexuality, Redskins namesake, etc., than putting a good show on the field.

I suppose that the PC crowd will back him on this one.

I never thought much about his football talents in addition to his not being very bright. He seems like a ‘duh’ kind of guy to me.

Actually, no. Pro football players are highly compensated because they generate billions of dollars of revenue for their employers.

I don't know if any of these lawsuits have any merit, but no employer has the right to willfully put their employees in harm's way by hiding risks associated with the work.

He never had a concussion. His most serious injury was an Achilles tear that was more from playing golf than football.

He freely engaged in the activity of playing football fully knowing that he would get knocked about. It was not forced on him by the NFL. He chose to get roughed up.

Ah, that’s because you never saw John Unitas play football, live, in-person nor knew the kind of upstanding man he was except maybe in a couple of video clips. ;-)

Hey Marino, you got paid handsomely for what you did and you knew what you were getting into when you strapped on that uniform.

If you hadn’t played football, what would you have done?

There are thousands who strapped on a uniform and got very little in return but perhaps a flag draped coffin and never had a chance to bitch about it like you have.
