Anger Explodes Over Treatment of Bergdahl’s Release as Veterans, Troops Call Him a Deserter

For all the yellow ribbons strewn across his hometown in Idaho and the gratitude expressed by his parents in an emotional visit to the White House on Saturday, it’s looking increasingly unlikely that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will receive a hero’s welcome when he returns to the United States after nearly five years in Taliban captivity.

From military forums across the country, a groundswell of anger is rising over the Obama administration’s silence on perhaps the most controversial question surrounding the deal that freed Bergdahl in exchange for five senior Taliban members: Was he a deserter?

So far, the U.S. government has shied away from the long-nagging question, which raged anew Monday with growing clamor on the Internet about the circumstances of Bergdahl’s disappearance from his unit’s small forward position in Afghanistan on June 30, 2009.

Military-related blogs, Twitter accounts and Facebook pages were filled with screeds from commenters accusing Bergdahl of being a “traitor” or a Taliban “collaborator.” The online publication The Daily Beast published a nearly 2,000-word first-person account by a former Army infantry officer who said he was privy to details of Bergdahl’s disappearance and who stated flatly that “he was a deserter, and soldiers from his own unit died trying to track him down.”

The mother of one of six soldiers who’ve been identified as being killed in circumstances related to the search for Bergdahl was furious over the opaque handling of the case, telling Army Times that the Pentagon “really owes the parents of these fallen soldiers the truth.”

But instead of addressing the desertion issue head-on, complained many military analysts and war veterans, the Obama administration is allowing the debate to fester, only deepening the skepticism of current and former service members who demand to know how Bergdahl left his unit,...

The reason the dip$hits in the Obama Admin keep running into PR buzz saws like this is that they cannot even conceive that traitors are actually bad.

Being as they are all a bunch of traitors, you would think they would recognize another traitor when they see one.

Sincere appreciation Leo. May your idea at post #10 be the course taken. It is (imho) the best course and should be followed up by our Military and our Citizens. Cutting obama out of the loop is the safest course till the facts can come to the surface without media and obama spin doctors. Btw ... no thanks are due me. Special Thanks are due you though Leo. Thank You!!!

I trust our soldiers , sailors , airmen and Marines and most officers up to CPT , then the political / career aspirations can take over . Fortunately there is still a higher officer corps that are true to the oaths and who are not at all pleased about their C&C . But they have to be super careful or their active duty careers will fall to the relentless administration collectors of ‘observations and information’ . How / why any continue to serve this Admin I can barely understand . At what point is the future of America greater than obedience to a standardized and accepted chain of command , even when that chain has become utterly corrupt and is contributing the endangerment of whatever America ever shall be in the future . How can they support that ? Will they too one day say “ I was just following orders” ?

BO is always kissing his staff. Kathleen Seboobiehead, etc. he kisses them. And he calls the by their first names. It’s not a cocktail party

It is so inappropriate

But what I saw tonight burned my eyes. Have been avoiding video, the father is too weird to look at. He is such a strange person

But BO is walking with the wife way ahead of the disassociated husband and what? BO totally has his a around her waist. He has his hand on her hip

It is the strangest behavior

If boner were not as inappropriate and addictive as these people we would not be subjected to this

These people are all zoned out

The mother acts stoned absolutely weak and unreactive.

It’s like ugh what rats do when they’re cornered. Oh, I’m in trouble over the vets? Ok I’ll just pull a passive AGGRESSIVE stunt aimed at them

Who’ll stop me? The only general officers left are so protective of their pensions they’ve been rendered eunuch.

It was bizzzzzare

It seems odd that the father says “I am your father”. What’s that about?

**In 2010, the Daily Mail in the U.K. reported that Sgt. Bergdahl was actively helping the Taliban by teaching them bomb making skills and ambush skills.**

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/jun/2/phillips-what-did-president-know-about-sgt-bergdah/

Why is the press in the UK more on top of this story than the US? ////rhetorical

So why would the Obama regime give away the crown jewels in the war against the Taliban for a soldier who was a deserter and a collaborator?

This scandal is going to be bigger than Benghazi.

Regrettably Leo I do not have the answers to your two questions. Your questions are great questions. Time holds the answers to your questions and not I. Your posts and especially your post #10 has/have been a Great Blessing this evening, and I too agree with your words of; How / why any continue to serve this Admin I can barely understand. May your two questions never be answered in a most horrific manner. May our Nation's Freedom survive and may our Nation remain a Republic. Wish I held more insight but I do not but as were your words absolutely true, mine have been absolute in truth to you. Thank You Leo. We Americans are not beaten yet!

from the article you linked, since the U.S. had sent the message that it would respond harshly if any harm befell him in captivity. ... it's a shame that they didn't send that message to Mexico where a real American hero is being held captive.

That’s what he said in English.
But considering all the details of the case, odd is your attitude.
What’s that about?

*Before enlisting, Bergdahl was known for his love of ballet. He performed with the Sun Valley Ballet School for years, even dancing the role of the Nutcracker.*

Sounds like this guy was on his toes.

On the positive side....there are 5 empty jail cells at Gitmo for Hussein O and Holder....let’s use them.
