The Heritage Foundation launches The Daily Signal news platform
Daily Signal ^ | 06/03/2014

Posted on 06/03/2014 6:13:22 AM PDT by BuckeyeTexan

We know you’re busy. And we’re quite certain you care deeply about the future of our country.

We care, too. We care about your communities, your families, and how Washington’s decisions are going to impact you.

More and more people are grabbing bites of news from mobile devices on the go – and they need a place where they can find digestible, trusted news on the most important policy debate of the day.

That’s why the Heritage Foundation team created a digital-first, multimedia news platform called The Daily Signal.

The Daily Signal provides policy and political news as well as conservative commentary and policy analysis – in a fresh, visually rich, readable format for your desktop, tablet or phone.

We are committed to news coverage that is accurate, fair and trustworthy. As we surveyed the media landscape, it became clear to us that the need for honest, thorough, responsible reporting has never been more critical. That’s a challenge in today’s fast-moving world. And it’s a challenge we’re willing to accept.

We are dedicated to developing a news outlet that cuts straight to the heart of key political and policy arguments – not spin reported as news.

The Daily Signal is supported by the resources and intellectual firepower of The Heritage Foundation – a dedicated team of experienced journalists to cover the news and more than 100 policy experts who can quickly help put issues in perspective. We believe this combination of news, commentary and policy analysis will establish The Daily Signal as a trusted source on America’s most important issues.

We believe that high-quality, credible news reporting on political and policy issues is of paramount importance to an informed and free society. This is a reflection of that Jeffersonian notion that the greatest defense of liberty is an informed citizenry.

TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Front Page News; Government; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: heritage; news; policy
Sharyl Attkisson will be a contributor. Lots of good articles over there. Check 'em out. Post 'em.

A note from Jim DeMint:

It is to exercise this right—to communicate freely and directly with the American people–that The Heritage Foundation has created The Daily Signal.

The Daily Signal will hold its “camera” to our nation, its current events, culture, people and politics. It will show the world as it is, not as conservatives or liberals or libertarians—or even communists—wish it to be.

We are fortunate to live in a country where robust political discussion is encouraged. And as a nation, we can set the right priorities, place trust in the right leaders, and make the right choices only if we have access to dependable journalism and incisive policy analysis.

I know there are many Americans, with all manner of political beliefs, who would agree. I invite them to come to The Daily Signal to see what we’re covering, join the debate, and share their ideas.

Heritage Foundation, a classic bunch of a**hats if every there was one. These clowns took $25,000.00 from the Romney camp when he was pushing his healthcare bill as Gov. their paper supported his plan, then when he ran for POTUS they redrew the paper.

I was recently asked to join The Heritage Foundation, I asked the caller if she could name their research paper on the Obama birth cert issue, of course she couldn’t, there isn’t one. I then told her that they are NOT a leading think tank of conservatives, but are nothing more then an arm of the GOP left.

So as someone already stated on this thread, just what we need, another disinformation specialist....

I hope they try to become a serious news source and not stray into WND, the Blaze, or Newsmax land where we get bizarre stories, viral videos as news, cryptic click-bait headlines, and a screen full of obnoxious popup ads for survival food or a bunch of other junk.

We need something that can go against HuffPo, which has become an actual news portal for lots of people, and not just a policy wonk outlet.

He chose a very poor title. That article is about the new regulations. He does stipulate the following:

A near-universal consensus does exist that man-made emissions have some warming effect; however, the controversy is about whether human activity is the primary driver of climate change and the magnitude of climate change induced by GHG emissions. Most importantly, no matter what one believes regarding climate change, one thing is clear: The regulations would not have any noticeable impact on global temperatures.

And we all know that human activity is NOT the primary driver. Well, unless you count the human activity of climate scientists who falsify data to push their ideological agenda. In that case, human activity would indeed be the primary driver.

“Obama is right to say climate change is a fact. A near-universal consensus does exist that manmade emissions have some warming effect; “

Yeah, that was strike one for me. They got 2 more tries.

Good news, I hope. Thanks for the heads up. Don’t know the easiest way to follow it. Either Facebook or here if there’s a ping list but it could be overkill for us busy folks. Be nice to get a one-page summary of the most important issues, something like that.

The Heritage Foundation was originally a conservative think tank. Paul Weyrich later realized that some people whom he allowed on the board, *sounded* conservative but were, it turned out, Republicans in Name Only. Eventually, the RINO's nudged Paul Weyrich ... away ... enough, that he left and started the Free Congress Foundation.

Now, after years of Rush Limbaugh pointing out, that the leftists/liberals echo The Daily Fax from The Democrat Party ... comes the Heritage Foundation's Daily Signal, a poor choice of words.

What incredible idiot came up with the name The Daily Signal?

Signal was a propaganda magazine published by the German Wehrmacht from 1940 through 1945. It is also a magazine put out by PBS.
