My Picks For Californias Primary
6/3/14 | OneVike

Posted on 06/03/2014 8:59:05 AM PDT by OneVike

My Statewide Choices:

California Governor ;
Tim Donnelly
Donnelly is a Republican State Assemblyman who deserves your vote. He is not as smooth-talking as other politicians, but he believes in Constitutionally-limited government and wants to apply the Constitution according to its original intent, per the Federalist Papers and other historical writings of its Framers.

If you are considering Neel Kashkari for Governor, wake up and smell the coffee. Not only did this idiot support and vote for Obama against John McCain in 2008, but he is being pushed by the Republican establishment. He's a big-government RINO who even endorsed Sharia Law bank reforms, under the TARP stimulus, which calls for banking regulations to be consistent with the principles of Sharia Law, according to Islamic economic ideas. So that portions of bank earnings will be donated to Muslim groups promoting the goal of Jihad, as well as the elevation of Sharia above the U.S. Constitution. Kashkari was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury under Bush 43, where he promoted Sharia-compliant finance in the process of acquiring the too-big-to-fail AIG.
=====================================================================================
California Lieutenant Governor;
Ron Nehring
Nehring is a small businessman and educator who believes in holding to the Constitution as originally intended. He wants to limit the government, not empower it to do more damage than it already does. Less is more when it comes to government involvement in economic matters, healthcare, or making changes to Proposition 13--which should be left alone and not altered in any way. There are two other Republicans running in the primary for this position. But Ron Nehring is the most desirable with respect to the ideal of having a smaller government.
=====================================================================================
California Secretary of State;
Pete Peterson
Peterson is listed on the ballot as "Educator/Institute Director." There is one other Republican on the ballot who is a state employee who is a little bit too supportive of perpetuating the big government. Let us please not split the Republican vote here. Vote for Peterson in hopes of getting him into the general election. Secretary of State is a powerful position in California. We need a Secretary of State who believes in voter ID laws and who will lead on that notion. We want no more elections cycles that are so corrupt as to call into question the results of such important a public trust as election to high office.
=====================================================================================
California Controller;
Ashley Swearengin
Ashley is the Republican Mayor of the City of Fresno. He is in favor of small-government solutions to issues about 66% of the time. This makes him better by far than anyone else in the race. It would be nice if that percentage were higher. But he is the best candidate in the field, hands down.
=====================================================================================
California Treasurer;
Greg Conlon
Conlon is the Republican Businessman and CPA on the ballot. He is the most conservative small business supporting Republican rujnning. Here is what I know about Greg Conlon: He does not favor any tax increases, and he wants the people to make their own healthcare decisions--not the government! I am not sure what his position on Prop. 13 is but I his opponents definitely want to change Prop. 13 to make homeowners and businesses all pay more!
=====================================================================================
California AttorneyGeneral;
John Haggerty
Haggerty is the best Republican running for Attorney General in my estimation. He edges out David King, who would be the number two pick for this office. King is also a Republican. John Haggerty, however, gets is a Constitutional Originalist, while King favors more judicial activism. Even if you are a registered Libertarian who likes to vote party-line, you are probably not serving the cause of libertarianism because the Libertarian running supports bigger government and more government intrusion than either Republican running.
=====================================================================================
California Insurance Commissioner;
Ted Gaines
As an Independent Insurance Agent gaines supports smaller small-government solutions over more regulations. He is a supporter of free markets and wants the government to stop regulating the implementation of health insurance. He is against any kind of a tax increase and against changing Prop. 13. He also is for tort reform in order to reduce the number of frivolous lawsuits in the state.
=====================================================================================
California Superintendent of Public Instruction;
Lydia A Gutierrez
Gutierrez is a Republican Teacher and Neighborhood Council Member, neither of her Democrat opponents come anywhere close to supporting homeschooling the way she does. She is also an advocate of school accountability to the community, while she also wants to keep taxes low.

Again, my Statewide Choices are:
==============================
California Governor;
Tim Donnelly
==============================
California Lieutenant Governor;
Ron Nehring
==============================
California Secretary of State;
Pete Peterson
==============================
California Controller;
Ashley Swearengin
==============================
California Treasurer;
Greg Conlon
==============================
California AttorneyGeneral;
John Haggerty
==============================
California Insurance Commissioner;
Ted Gaines
==============================
California Superintendent of Public Instruction;
Lydia A Gutierrez

Great list OneVike, however, not one of them is going to get elected.

California is lost.

I voted for Robert Newman, No Party Preference because he declared: “I am pro-God, pro-life, pro family.”

Lt Gov, Ron Nehring, assuming he’s conservative, as I couldn’t vote for the others.

SecState, Roy Allmond because he quoted the end of the Declaration of Independence.

Controller, David Evans, as the only one anywhere near a conservative.

Atty Gen, John Haggerty, because his statement appeared to me to be more coherent and focused than Orly Taitz, who’s also running.

......

Romney made a robo-call to my house last night and urged me to vote for Kashkari.

Which means that my vote will CERTAINLY go elsewhere (have not yet completed my research, and wont' vote until I do -- THANK YOU SO MUCH for this post, as it will help!

Kashkari can pound sand -- anybody who Romney supports, needs to LOSE.

Thanks for the update. I’ll check back tonight to see how your picks fared. Our jobs moved out of California 17 years ago but we have family and friends back there so it’s still of interest.

Calling Kashkari a "conservative" no less. What a flipping liar.

Wow -- that's a friggin' surprise! NOT!!! Romney is an amoral opportunist to whom, apparently, lies and truth are arbitrary and interchangeable.

MANY, MANY, of the YOUNG LADIES I work with voted for Obammie
in 2012 all of their responses to my arguments were “don’t you know what
Mitt Romney is going to do to women” WE won’t have birth control anymore!!!! I was beyond astonished at how REALLY STUPID our
young people are!!!! I ask them ALL now who are college grads and
CAN’T find jobs in their fields how all this is working out for them!!! I manage in the retail industry many, many, kids with college degrees
working min. wage jobs!!!!

Not too bad but I prefer David Fennell to establishment GOPe Nehring.

Phil Wyman for AG because I prefer rural people to John Haggerty who I can't find out much about.

Prefer Marshall Tuck with executive experience for Sup. of Pubic Indoctrination over Lydia A. Gutierrez "teacher/Neighborhood Councilmember."

And finally, I voted "NO!" on both ballot measures as I do this on all ballot measures unless they have very strong merits like Prop 13 did!!!

Mine is identical other than I chose Phil Wyman for AG. It was a tough choice.

From what I read Marshall Tuck is a Democrat who is in bed with the teachers union.

Not too bad but I prefer David Fennell to establishment GOPe Nehring.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day, in this case the GOP e got it right on Nehring, he is for small government, where as Fennell has said some things that points to his leaning towards bigger government roll.

I agree on Proposition 41: The Veterans Housing and Homeless Prevention Bond Act of 2014. We do not need another program for the politicians to steal money from.

To: OneVike; All

2 questions ..??

Were you aware that “Ashley” IS A FEMALE .. not a male ..?? And, if you didn’t know that .. I’m not sure I can trust some of your other choices .....

Like Ron Nehring. For a guy who was a total flop as head of the CA republican party, why would I want him to have another job in CA ..??

Just askin’
