....we are surrounded by people who are like us save for their faith in creation instead of the Creator. When left to their own devices they are “filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.” That we are not left to our own devices and consequently not like those who are should make us smile, not scowl. Conservatives, particularly those with faith, read 2 Chronicles 7:14,
if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land
and they get all bent out of shape. “This is about America. The nation must repent,” they think. Bull. That passage is not about America. That passage is about us. We should be humble and pray, and see God’s face. We should not be angry. We should not turn the country into an idol. I get the frustration. I do. And I understand why there is anger. I do. It is hard not to be angry sometimes. But stewing in the anger like so many on our own side are doing is neither healthy nor productive.

I think we should laugh. Because otherwise a lot of you are going to want to cry or make the unforced errors that come from feeding anger. America has elected the first President intent on making the world safe by making America less safe. We should laugh at that. Cling to our religion, cling to our guns, and laugh. Because a well armed faithful people can ride it out a hell of a lot better than the electric car driving population controlled peacenik with no family to turn, no gun with which to defend himself, and no God to turn to for comfort and strength.

Awesome article. Thanks for posting it!

In the Felicianas one might be led to believe that. most of us do not live in a relatively thinly populated rural area with intensely clannish family networks. We live in some sort of urban context and the tentacles of the administrative state are concentrated first on those areas. However, rural people should not be lulled into this sort of ‘country boys will survive’ mindset. When the administrative state gets strong enough the ‘Community Police’ backed up with the panoply of ‘Homeland Defense’ quasi-military muscle will not be willing to let anyone they consider a ‘potential threat’ to live and let live. On top of this is the truly corrupting effective of popular culture on emerging generations. The ‘do your own thing’ ‘Girls Gone Wild’ culture of debauchery, dependency and coarse sensuality is alive and well in every corner of our nation.

We are receiving judgement for falling away from the true gospel.

Most Christian churches have apostatized.

Isaiah 1:15 “And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.”

We need to pray for a Christian revival.

When the ancient Israelites turned away from God, he chastised them.

They could not defeat their enemies on their own without God. God wins the victory for true believers.

God places wicked rulers over people that abandon, mock and reject him. A nation that rejects God can no expect anything good to come their way. If times are good - that is a temporary condition. God gives time for such nations to do enough evil to really deserve the full cup of his wrath.

We also, of course, need to continue living Christian lives day-to-day, while we pray and wait for Christian revival. God blesses those who are faithful, true believers - even in the midst of catastrophe all around them. We should not be in debt, we should be leaders in society.

We Christians are to build Christ’s Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Doesn’t matter how long things take or what trials we go through, we keep pressing on and will persevere unto the end.
