According to new reports, the American administration has promised the new Fatah-Hamas unity government, which was sworn in this Monday, that it will convince Israel to allow that new governments elections to be held in the eastern part of Jerusalem.
A source that knows things, apparently from within the Palestinian Authority (PA) or Hamas, was quoted in the Jordanian paper Al-Arab Al-Youm, reporting the American promise to work for parliamentary and presidential elections for the new unity government to be held in the Israeli capital. [ ]
Despite the American claims of non-affiliation with Hamas, three of the ministers in the new unity government came from Hamas-controlled Gaza. While they were denied entry to Samaria to attend the swearing-in ceremony in Ramallah by the IDF, they were reported to be sworn in via a live video feed.

Another lie from wash DC just to snipe some more at Israel. (Obama can ste d in his head and recite his Koran all day, but he can’t take the promised land away from the Israelis). Ain’t gonna happen.

Israel has been clear it won't allow elections in East Jerusalem if Hamas or Hamas candidates are on the ballot. Yes, GWB was able to pressure Israel to allow it, but the 2006 elections didn't go well. In the sense that GWB naively believed Hamas would lose big time. He was wrong, and they shouldn't have been allowed on the ballot in the first place. Israel should have stood firm against the pressure, as Egypt did when pressured to allow the Muslim Brotherhood on the ballot. Now the same nonsense from The One. I doubt he's got the leverage to force it. And unlike GWB, I doubt Israel will view him as a naïve friend. His stripes are visible.
There are still people in America that haven’t bent their knees to Baal.
Obama needs to keep his nose out of the tent.
