Crickets: Troops React With Silence to Sec. Hagel's 'Happy' News About Bergdahl's Release
Breitbart ^ | 06-03-2014 | Debra Heine

U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel met with members of the special operations team who participated in the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, in Afghanistan, Sunday.

He also spoke before a large group of US troops in a Bagram Air Field hangar, and when he announced the "happy" news about Bergdahl, he was met with complete silence.

"This is a happy day. We got one of our own back," Hagel said cheerfully.

Very few FReepers will know what you’re saying to BO with the semaphore flags.

A six year old could have made a better speech and dressed himself more statesmanly. I’d have had an emergency restroom dash before accepting anything from him. Crickets, indeed.

According to CBS News, "it was unclear whether the absence of cheers and applause came from a reluctance to display emotion in front of the Pentagon chief or from any doubts among the troops about Bergdahl."

"Unclear"? Really?

What is clear is that the sitting administration has not a single whiff of a clue as to how the troops in the field are dealing with this, nor do the White House mice think it important, nor would it be important were it not for the fact that the troops are going public with their disapproval.

It must hurt, to be regarded as useful only insofar as the entire affair serves to Democrat party political advantage, to know that your very life might be casually dispensed with should a "greater good" need serving, to know that "no man left behind" refers only to 0bama administration political sympathizers and not to, say, ambassadors in Libya. Enlisted men in Afghanistan do not figure nearly so high on that political totem pole as do, say, traitors and open America-haters such as those permeating the current Executive department.

“..... I read that prior rescuers were under orders to ‘put him down’ were they to come in unexpected contact with Bergdahl. The belief was that he was capable of attacking his own rescue team members. “

This makes it even more certain that bergdahl “aided and abetted”....

Do you have a link to the story?

You should have seen my Drill Sergeant in basic. Now he was intimidating. After him I, almost chuckled when someone tried to ream me a new one.

I always kept that experience in my life first and foremost in my mind.

In real life you always had the opportunity to tell the ahole to F off and if you didn't like it, you could always quit.

In Basic, you were SCREWED! You couldn't tell the DI to F off and you certainly couldn't quit without serious consequences........LOL!

I will look for that link and come back here with it. I was stunned to read that. That is an example of pure, undiluted Military thinking. They do what they have to do, if at all possible.

I found the link; An article by Michelle Malkin from June 3, 2014; “Exclusive; The Story You Haven’t Yet Heard About Bo Bergdahl’s Desertion” This short article with important areas highlighted tells of the searches conducted for Bo after this particular incident of him going AWOL. Every pet owner knows what the term “Put Down” means. That term was used here in reference to Bergdahl. Read all about it!

Did you Google that Michelle Malkin article from June 3 2014?
See my other post for the exact wording of the headline. In general, the term “to put down”, means to mercifully put an animal to death. For instance, I’ve always heard that race horses are very expensive to maintain, and if they break a leg or otherwise become unable to ever race again, some racehorse owners will consider this a money losing investment, so this type of owner may have the Vet euthanize or permanently put the animal to sleep.

OK I found it:

“... The standard procedure for recapturing Bergdahl was not “normal,” the soldier noted. “He was very good with knives, and trained to throw and fight hand-to-hand with knives. We did not know the mental state of Bergdahl at the time. All we knew was he left on his own,he caused us lots of hardship, and if we entered a room and saw him,we would put him down because he could attack us.” .....”

Thank you Vet for continuing to post that link for any lurkers that may not know. I’m sick of hearing six died as if those other 8 lives don’t count.
