The community college I attended had sworn police officers on campus, however the didn’t carry a side arm. Legally, they could and were certified to, but it was up to the Trustees if they wanted them armed. They didn’t for fear of offending of scaring students or some such BS reason.
The active shooter plan was to basically have the campus pd radio (campus pd radio traffic was also monitored by city pd) city pd with he info and wait for them to respond. I believe campus pd now carries, but I understand it was a fight to get approval.
Just got off the phone with my son. He said the prayer service at the church tonight was full when he got there. So around a hundred students formed groups of 10 or so on the lawn across the street to pray.
Dorm floor prayers at 10 tonight.
Everywhere you go there are prayer partners scattered around the campus - he said he didn’t know how they could get that many people together and things organized - three hours after it happened!
He and his buds were shaking their head at the mayor when one of the first things he said at the press conference was something about gun control. They were all pissed that this liberal is turning their grief into a political thing.
I was telling him how glad that he is at a school that turns to God and in a time like this. He agreed. But he and everyone is in shock, and not sure what is going to happen (turning in papers with classes cancelled, finals, etc.)
“But - I guess we’ll get through it.”

Here is a photo of the kids that couldn’t get into the prayer service at the church do to too many people.
Except that dang photo is blurry.
Better to die rushing the shooter as he reloads, than to cower in a closet or under a desk, after he’s fully reloaded and ready to kill again. JMO.
The SPU President said that they were going to have grief counselors in many places (IIRC in the dorms and in a main hall).
Bless the victims, families and all the SPU and their families.
Your points are very good and your moral is right on! Thanks!
WOW...very telling indeed
Our God will kick their sorry allah’s butt.
Big time.
As I think I said up thread - I heard the DIM Mayor’s brief remarks at the presser and that ticked me off, too. What a time to do his progressive politicizing about guns - jerk!
'xactly!
Just dancing on Alinsky's strings:
"Never let a crisis go to waste"
Someone has identified him as Jon Meis although not confirmed by Seattle PD.
http://www.christianitytoday.com/gleanings/2014/july/campus-shooting-seattle-pacific-university-spu.html
Here is his FB page.
https://www.facebook.com/jon.meis
His FB page is mostly empty, him and an apparent girlfriend or friend who is a girl.
Jon Meis is the ROTC hero that disarmed the perp. The perp was NOT a student.
lolz
my mistake
he needs to update his status to hero then
The captor was IDed as John Meis, NOT the shooter. Shooter still unidentified.
There was also this little bit of fluff in the CT article:
“This is the latest in a string of Christian college attacks in the last two years.
The then go on to list all of FOUR such attacks.
LOL!
And I won’t make any remarks about his “like” for TV shows which include
“My Little Pony and Friends”
alongside “24” and “Top Gun”.!?
(and movies like Band of Brothers)
Oh man... he’s a Brony?
