North Korea announced Friday that it has detained a U.S. citizen who it says entered the country as a tourist in April and broke the law.

Americans are not authorized to visit the DPRK, so what is going on here? And do they want $5 million and five prisoners, like the people who returned Sergeant Bergdahl?

“broke the law”

did he take a wrong turn in Pyongyang and find out half the side streets aren’t even paved?

did he accidently see a homeless person sleeping in public when the government minders weren’t watching?

did he point out that the potemkin restaurant he was taken to had no other patrons?

Americans visit all the time. Dennis Rodman for instance, although from another planet qualifies as an “American” and that veteran they arrested for.... being a veteran....

Rodman is a famous black athlete, he knows Obama and Holder won’t touch him.

Kim Jong Un will not be overshadowed by the VA scandal or the rescue of a deserter and trade of high ranking enemy combatants.

We are not talking about be detained in a country like Iran, Laos, or some other nation that is dangerous, but still open. Anyone stupid enough to travel to North Korea deserves anything that happens to them.

Actually, I am pretty sure he will be. The NBA finals definitely keep it off the first few pages. It might be a on line news brief in some papers.

The story is sorta funny and tragic at the same time. Who in their right mind would “tour” North Korea? Has the State Department released any policy briefs regarding said tourism and the potential consequences of being “detained”? Too many questions.

It’s always that left turn at Albuquerque.

He may have been kidnapped out of Chinese territory or even out of Japan. It has happened before.
