Threatened Republican Impeachment of Obama a Useless Joke
Canada Free Press ^ | June 5, 2014 | Judi McLeod

Posted on 06/05/2014 10:43:01 PM PDT by kingattax

Given that five violent Taliban terrorists in the Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl tradeoff are now on the loose, (being in Qatar is on the loose), it’s got to be the biggest joke of all time that Republican lawmakers would call for President Barack Obama’s impeachment—”if he released more prisoners from Guantanamo Bay”.

Obama knows all about crying wolf and even includes it as one of the ploys from his own capacious political trick bag.

With meek and mewling little voices, senators like South Carolina’s Lindsey Graham and House Speaker John Boehner, have been crying wolf about Obama all along.

They never do anything about Obama, only, from time to time, make like they’re going to

Like all RINOs and many Repubs, Lindsey Graham is a mere mewling kitten in the wolf’s lair where Obama and Valerie Jarrett hunker down with total impunity

Impeached? He could massacre a troop of girl scouts on the White House lawn during the Easter Egg roll, butcher them, barbecue them and serve them to all the participants and he still wouldn’t be impeached. And if you criticized him about it, the press would say “it’s a black thing” and accuse you of being a racist tea bagging rethuglican for bringing it up while licking their fingers and asking Michelle what kind of spice rub they’re using and ask for more macaroni & cheese and a refill of their kool-aid.

The Republican Party is a useless joke. Just look at this demented continuation of hostilities by the Cochran... sorry, Barbour campaign. They’ve already lost, but still they want to waste more resources to make sure a decent man doesn’t ever get elected without being bloodied.

Its led by this Mitch McConnell, who is backpeddaling on Obamacare repeal, even while his competitive Democrat challenger is being strangled by the new fascist EPA crackdown on coal, Mitch STILL finds a reason to ‘moderate’. And he wants to be the majority leader?!

About 70% of the national delegation in the Senate is total trash. About 50% of the national delegation in the House is total trash. Just look at the tools that primary voters send to Washington. This IRA-loving nutjob from New York, Peter King, who actually thinks he could be president! Mark Kirk, about ready to campaign FOR Dick Durbin. The gruseome twosome, Linseed Gayham and Juan McShame. Kelly Ayotte, the spluttering joke. Eric Cantor, or should that be Eric Hernandez-Diaz Cantor?

The fanatics on the left who want to destroy this country are represented EXACTLY how they want to be. Their radicals are extremely radical fake Native Americans, and their closet radicals are slimy lawyers from New York.

And what do we, the real Americans get? Bob Corker and Lamar! Alexander. These empty threats impress nobody. We all know that if an impeachment vote was held, the majority of Repukes would vote ‘Nay’, just to not get called racist by James Clyburn.

The entire thing sickens me.

As long as the Democrats control the Senate, he will not be impeached.

It would be a waste of time.

I really don't understand why so many conservatives don't understand even the basics of the process. Maybe like everything else political, conservatives think the details don't matter -- that if they just have enough will power and energy and righteous anger, they'll win the battles.

Democrats have been proving them wrong for decades now and we're in a terrible position. Just being right isn't enough to win this war. All that "boring", "pointless", "egg-headed" "book-learnin'" the left has engaged in over the past 50 years is being used to kick our butts. They've taken over most of the institutions -- especially the press. And without the press, the public will never understand the depths of Obama's and the Democrat's dishonesty and so impeachment will most likely fail.

I used to think that, but consider what sort of education soldiers like Bergdahl have been getting. The left had at least 12 years of public reeducation to help turn him into what he is now.

And it's clear the military is being purged of conservatives, either directly, or indirectly by embracing philosophies that conservatives oppose.

The military is looking more like the red army every day.

All this goes back to the left taking control of the intellectual and cultural life of the USA. The kids they took control of decades ago are now in the military.

The truth: Obama actually hopes the Republicans attempt to impeach him.

Apart from a smoking gun revealing the personal commission of an indisputably high crime, Obama will never be impeached, much less convicted. The Clinton impeachment process demonstrated that the procedure is not a legal but a political one and, to peel one more layer off the onion, political processes are conditioned by the culture.

The culture was conditioned by the media and the media was on a mission from God to install a liberal African-American in the White House. The media mounted a juggernaut during the election of 2008 to accomplish just that. In their rush neither the media nor the Democratic Party cared that they were not installing a liberal but in fact an African-American who was a communist. Skin pigment trumped everything.

Most of America was unaware of Obama's Communist affiliations in 2008 and remain unaware of them today. It was the job of the media to reveal those affiliations but they would not because they were committed to a "higher cause." The Republican opposition would not do so because they were thoroughly intimidated. Both institutions failed the nation.

The Republican failure has visited baleful consequences on the nation ever since. We conservatives on FreeRepublic were fully aware of Obama's radical biography and many of us declared in 2008 that the only way juggernaut could be stopped was to "morally destroy" Barack Obama by revealing him to be the communist he was and still is. Republican timidity resulted in two elections of Barack Obama and there is no reason to conclude that Republican timidity will not extend to occasions to impeach Barack Obama. Indeed, the Republicans have failed effectively to oppose even those policies most repugnant to Republican principles (assuming Rino establishment Republicans still have principles) because they continue to fear being branded racists merely for opposing Obama.

However much the media is becoming privately disenchanted with the man they put in the White House, especially with his personal deficiencies, they cannot and will not permit the presidency of the first African-American to be discredited. Obama is fully aware of this and knows that his best chance to save off a Republican sweep in November is to bait the Republicans into a battle with the media. Republicans are powerless to impeach Obama except in the most egregious circumstances and they know it.

When Senator McCain declined to expose Obama for in 2008, indeed when McCain affirmatively lauded candidate Obama as a fit person for the White House, he foreclosed all possibilities of exposing Obama for his radical, anti-constitutional, even anti-American convictions. After that, it became impossible to put the toothpaste back in the tube besides there was a general feeling that Obama's past was irrelevant, after all, the man has been elected.

This whole dismaying story is but one more example of Nathan Bedford's first Maxim of American politics: all politics in America is not local but ultimately racial.

Unless the Republican Party can find both the courage and the means to break free of the threat of being branded racist, nothing will happen to Obama, certainly not impeachment, amnesty for millions and millions of illegal aliens will remain inevitable, conservatism will ultimately be swamped under a demographic and a propaganda juggernaut.

The motto above Nathan Bedford's avatar enjoins us: "attack, repeat, attack!… Admiral Bull Halsey.

excellent post.

here is what is so supremely mind-boggling about this.

supposedly, Republicans won’t pull the trigger and file articles of impeachment because they would be branded “racists”.

why in the blue-eyed world are they afraid of that since Republicans are routinely branded as “racists” ANYWAY ?!?!

Your point is well taken.

I suppose the reason the Republicans are so timorous is that they understand that the Democrats and the media will easily pick off a few Republicans causing every effort to impeach Obama, or shut down the government, or what have you, to fail. Since Rino Republicans are essentially only careerists, they have a terror of being isolated and abandoned.

Until the Republican party, under conservative control, can instill discipline we will have an ineffectual party. One of the great failings of George Bush as president was his inability to discipline his own party-probably because he could present no moral posture of conservative values himself.

Linda Gramnesty - You are useless. If you have grounds to impeach, why is the second release any worse than the first?

In fact, by letting the first one stand, you have given the WH a precedent to defend with.

And you give that precedent to Hillary, Moochelle, and the next ones in line in the dynasty of one branch tyranny...

The law doesn't give authorization power to Congress, it orders the president to give Congress 30 days notice. So, the next time, if he gives Congress 30 days notice, he's followed the law. He can release them all.

I think the law is unconstitutional. The president has unilateral pardon power.

The day after Richard Nixon received 520 electoral votes and 60.8% of the popular vote, Mike Mansfield and the rest of the Democratic leadership decided that he should be removed from office.

They understood the process, they understood that the American people were the real jury, and they set about making their case, methodically but relentlessly, step by step, brick by brick.

It took 19 months of intense and focussed effort, but they did it.

The major difference between them and today's GOP is that they knew how to exercise their power, they knew what they wanted and they were not frightened by Nixon's huge victory.

Today's Republicans could not possibly pull this off, and feeble efforts to do so will increase Obama's popularity (which may already be happening).

If you shoot at the king, you have to...

Or, to quote one of Obama's heroes, "People want to follow the strong horse".

Re your post 11, you, of course, understand that the callers for impeachment on this site—and likely, other websites—do so out of a combination of passion and ignorance of the Constitutional process. They don’t let the facts get in their way.

Similarly, I see a lot of passion for cutting down on Federal Government unions, and yet, it is my understanding (I may be wrong but here’s where I differ from them: I’m willing to allow for such a possibility) that unions do not represent a major force in the Federal Government’s workforce, certainly not among the ranks of professionals such as FBI agents, economists, agricultural agents, those sorts of people.

Correct, when the constitutionally prescribed procedure for congress is followed.

Both Parties have a vest interest in protecting the WH for their next President.

Since that is true and congress, the representatives of the people, will not act as prescribed, then the people can apply a mechanism for removal of a president provided them by a constitutional amendment but only if they bother to read, understand and apply!!!

With the DC GOP, ignore all words, watch their actions. So, far, they haven't moved from their fetal position in years. Save yourself time and aggravation expecting the GOP to do a thing. Just be pleasantly surprised, if they do.

Here's a perfect example; on 6/29/2012, almost 2 years ago, the GOP House voted Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. Nothing has happened to Holder since. So, our GOP House, took was used to be a sledgehammer and turned it into a feather by using contempt as a meaningless gesture.

Faat and Furious, 300 Mexicans dead from guns ran to the drug cartels. What has happened? Nothing. Benghazi, a year and a half later, they form a committee. Obama's illegal executive orders aren't even on the radar.

Expect nothing from the GOP Congress and don't be disappointed.

And those making the threats know it as well. As a parent, teacher, or president one should never make a threat unless they intend to carry it out and we all know that Limp Wrist Lindsey and Boner have the backbones of a chocolate eclair.

If obama on national tv took a chainsaw and murdered new born babies and kittens nothing would happen and it’s because we have a Congress that as acquiesced it’s power to the executive branch and does not care one bit.
