The man blasting away with a shotgun paused to reload, and Jon Meis saw his chance.
The 22-year-old building monitor pepper-sprayed and tackled the gunman Thursday in Seattle Pacific University's Otto Miller Hall, likely preventing further carnage, according to police and university officials.

Now the liberals will be calling for pepper spray to be banned.
Actually, the gun grabbers are jumping all over this, claiming pepper spray is good enough. No guns necessary.
Imagine the possibilities if the we could issue pepper spray to the police?
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with pepper spray who is lucky enough to wait until the bad guy’s gun is empty.
Pepper spray is effective only on the non-psychotic.
Spraying someone having a wild psychotic episode only makes them madder.
Thats fine; let the coppers patrol with a spray can!
Would save many dogs and more!
Neither guns nor pepper spray are allowed in liberal doctrine. There is a reason why Pacifism is a key tenet promoted by cynical liberals and worshiped by their idiot followers. To cynical liberals, the only valid reason to use a weapon is to destroy America; to idiot liberals, reasoned dialogue would be enough to neutralize Osama bin Laden.
Uh, do we really need Captain Obvious to show up?
Let me rephrase this:
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with pepper spray who has the nerves of steel to wait until the bad guy killed enough people to empty his gun's magazine.
It is not a matter of gun laws. It is a matter of mentally ill being identified as hostile and not doing anything about it because we don’t want to harm their self esteem or some liberal / pc horse pucky.(as is this nut’s case)
Even our idiot governor had to mention that gun violence need to be stopped.
So does that mean knife violence is ok? Or, how about bat violence? What about pipe violence across the knees?
Really, how about getting the nut cases off the streets?
Exactly. This young man is a hero with amazing courage. That should not be diminished.
Apparently this campus is a pepper spray free zone.
The kid will likely face charges and be expelled.
The thread title is wrong. It should read “The Gun Wanted To Kill As Many Possible.” The inanimate object is the perp...right??
Umm, liberals are afraid that guns will be used to defend America. That would get in their way.
Right. They’ll next be demanding that police departments, the Marines, the Seals and the Army infantry just carry pepper spray. And I wish this was just sarcasm but in this world, insanity knows no boundaries.
That may be ‘too much of a good thing’!
One dead 3 injured. If someone had been carrying a gun they could have stopped him after the first shot. This hero wisely waited for a reload.
He’s lucky the spray worked I’ve seen guys shrug off pepper spray.
“Now the liberals will be calling for pepper spray to be banned.”
It is outlawed in NYC; feral gibsmedats were using it during muggings decades ago, and it has been banned ever since.
“Hes lucky the spray worked Ive seen guys shrug off pepper spray.”
Unless someone is under the influence, it is difficult to shrug off; initially it is almost impossible to keep your eyes open.
I’ve seen reports that some students were also involved in disabling the perp. Possibly ROTC engineers.
Even if true, I doubt it would get much publicity.
It's already banned in some places, and it was probably against the rules for him to have it on campus.
So, we have another mass shooter, who is not to blame because he has a history of being treated for mental illness after being arrested for being severely intoxicated.
I would like to ask what the father does for a living that he has succeeded in getting his son’s arrest for intoxication dismissed as mental illness. Note that the article doesn’t mention what caused the intoxication.
