A California pastor is being extradited to Nevada on a murder charge in the death of a man outside a Las Vegas sports bar -- despite claims by witnesses that the father of two was acting in self-defense.
Robert Cox, of Manteca, Calif., claims he did not throw a punch at Link Ellingson, knocking him to the ground and causing a mortal head injury. But prosecutors claim Cox changed his story, first telling officers he punched Ellingson after the man threatened him outside Four Kegs bar, and then later claiming in a written statement that he grabbed Ellingson by the waist and the two fell to the ground, according to the criminal complaint charging Cox with felony murder.

In this case, at least according to the cops, he did change his story substantially. At first he says he only grabbed the guy around the waist, resulting in their both falling and that’s how he broke a finger.
However when confronted with video evidence that shows only one guy, the victim, falling and hitting his head that’s when the pastor admitted to decking him.
However, it’s likely that, if witness statements are accurate, he will only have to face trial on something lesser.
Four Kegs has the best pizza.
Half price during NFL games.
Many fine memories.
Because you can always trust a cop not to lie. “I was afraid for my life.”
“He was resisting arrest. “
Never speak to the cops.
I would just give my name followed by “I want a Lawyer”.
Although others have said it, I want to repeat it.
Except for one thing, NEVER talk to a police officer, it almost always gets you into further trouble, and frequently provides the ONLY evidence which can be used to establish guilt even if you are not guilty.
What is the one thing you can say?: “I want to talk to a lawyer.” Not “I think” I want to talk to a lawyer, or “I may” want to talk to a lawyer, or “Should I” talk to a lawyer.
Say: “I WANT to talk to a lawyer.”
There are many many wonderful, good police officers, and thank goodness for them. But there are many bad ones, ones willing to lie or twist, and you do not know which type you will be dealing with.
Plus, in this age police forces are becoming more like occupying forces, hostile to the “civilian” population, and instruments (often unwittingly) of the Leftist agenda.
If you only say “I want a lawyer,” it is much harder for the police to later make stuff up.
Didn't realize that Four Kegs was a national chain.
It's an Italian dive. They may be using 'family' in the Godfather sense. They do set it in quotes: "if you'd prefer a more "family" oriented gathering."
Not 4 Kegs. was talking sports bars in general.
Four Kegs isn’t what I’d consider a ‘sports bar’. ‘Local dive’ is a more apt description.
Looking at the restaurants website/menu they do advertise a Family Dining Room.

Ahh...I put Family Dining Room in quotes since it was an extract from their website; it wasn’t in quotes in their website. “Family” covers more than just genetic nuclear family groups; it meant to cover things such as church groups, kids’ softball teams, etc.
But I’m not going to quibble if you’d prefer for some reason to believe that they meant “family” in the Mafia sense.
I agree with your conclusion.
I’m not trying to lay it on thick, because I doubt the pastor went out of his way to cause trouble here. He may have, but until I hear otherwise I’m willing to think he was the innocent.
Sports bar...
“Four Kegs”
Beer signs all over inside...
Big sign reads in part..., “Gaming”
I don’t know. Seems there must have been a better place.
Perhaps he thought the kids were too hungry to go the rest of the way. I don’t know all the particulars.
This place was on Diners, Drive in’s and Dives. http://www.foodnetwork.com/restaurants/nv/las-vegas/four-kegs-sports-pub-restaurant.html
It was probably a choice that was a tourist spot, and the interns are all over 18 so not little kids.
Shouldn’t they all be over 21?
