It is fitting that the day before U.S. President Barack Obama gave his grand West Point address defending the wisdom and prudence of his foreign policy, his government was urging Americans to evacuate Libya.
Libya, of course, was once the model Obama intervention the exquisitely calibrated military engagement wrapped in the rhetorical extravagance of a nationally televised address proclaiming his newest foreign policy doctrine (they change to fit the latest ad hoc decision): the responsibility to protect (R2P).
You dont hear R2P bandied about much anymore. Not with more than 50,000 civilians having been slaughtered in Syrias civil war, unprotected in any way by the United States. Nor for that matter do you hear much about Libya, now so dangerously chaotic and jihadi-infested that the U.S. State Department is telling Americans to get out.

Obama can lick his weight in strawmen and cocktail waitresses.
And ‘straw’ Republicans
Straw men and the very closely related false choice fallacies are hallmarks of every Obama speech and address.
Why is Krauth worth listening to? In this very column he supports aiding the Syrian rebels - a bunch of Christian-killing Islamists.
In 1978, Krauthammer moved to Washington, D.C., to direct planning in psychiatric research under the Carter administration. He began contributing articles about politics to The New Republic and in 1980 served as a speech writer to vice president Walter Mondale. In January 1981, Krauthammer joined The New Republic as both a writer and editor.
Krauthammer is a member of the Chess Journalists of America and the Council on Foreign Relations.
Krauthammer has been called a conservative; however, he has also supported libertarian ideals on domestic issues. Krauthammer is a supporter of legalized abortion; an opponent of the death penalty; an intelligent design critic and an advocate for the scientific consensus on evolution, calling the religion-science controversy a “false conflict;” a supporter of embryonic stem cell research using embryos discarded by fertility clinics with restrictions in its applications; and a longtime advocate of radically higher energy taxes to induce conservation.
This puts up a huge CUIDADO" sign for me. Agenda 21, One World, Tri-Lateral, Bilderbergers, CFR. Yup! big time Caution.
“Why is Krauth worth listening to?”
Critical listening skills, even when disagreeing, used to be considered a virtue.
