Second world war dead washed up by Pacific Ocean's rise - caused by global warming

Skeletons of second world war soldiers are being washed from their graves by the rising Pacific Ocean as global warming leads to inundation of islands that saw some of the fiercest fighting of the conflict.

On the day Europe commemorated the 70th anniversary of the storming of Normandy beaches in the D-Day landings, a minister from the Marshall Islands, a remote archipelago between Hawaii and the Philippines, told how the remains of 26, probably Japanese soldiers, had been recovered so far on the isle of Santo.

"There are coffins and dead people being washed away from graves; it's that serious," said Tony de Brum, the minister of foreign affairs for the Marshall Islands.

Tides "have caused not just inundation and flooding of communities where people live but have also done severe damage in undermining regular land so that even the dead are affected".

Junk Science Chicken Little Alert!

It's not like the seas would ever rise due to tectonic shifts in the sea floor or underwater volcanos. Nah, never.

Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud

Sea levels began to rise 18k years ago at the end of the last glacial period. They have risen about 135 meters since then which is an average of 7.5 millimeters per year. That is an average of 750 mm per century (29.5 inches) which is far more than the average over the last century.

From 1880 to 2000 sea level rose about 20 cm or just under 8 inches. Far far less than the nearly 30 inches per century average over the last 18,000 years.

Interesting that this has happened on ONE island. If it was rising seas, it would happen on all of them, equally. And the dramatic pics in the story, show a storm in the distance.

This is about money for pacific islanders who have never removed their mouth from the government nipple since WWII. The “cargo” ain’t coming back.

Erosion never happened until the 21st century?

Yeah, and the stated rise in sea level is misniscule compared to what has eroded,

I know that on the east coast there are “gaining” and “losing” beaches with the way the currents are. The beaches that lose sand have it trucked in before tourist season. Not sure about the gaining beaches. Although I imagine the entrances to the various ports need to be dredged once-in-ahwile.

RE :”Second world war dead washed up by Pacific Ocean's rise - caused by global warming”

OK, this is the last straw,

We have to reduce carbon emissions for those who died saving us in WWII.
They gave their lives for us so its a very small return for us to go green for them.

America, America,

Obama leaves no soldier behind (except those in Benghazi, but that was the videos fault)

You’re absolutely right. Marshalls have been sinking for quite some time. This retread spin crap continues to perpetuate the “global warming” scene. Others have refuted obvious lies from the spin doctors. Some good info can be found here:

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/06/02/tuvalu-and-many-other-south-pacific-islands-are-not-sinking-claims-they-are-due-to-global-warming-driven-sea-level-rise-are-opportunistic/

http://climatism.wordpress.com/2013/09/04/44th-pacific-sinking-islands-extortion-forum/

One of my favorite quotes:

“Since the end of the last ice age, The Marshall Islands have survived 130 metres of sea-level rise, but the last 1.43mm/year since 1950 is going to sink them, therefore compensation must be paid for by Western nations!”

Notice the BS spin they did in this clap trap “article”? Talking about Jap coffins during the memorial of D-Day. Like the imperial bastards could hold candles to our Normandy heroes.

Pigs. All of them.

Next they’re going to blame Pangea breaking up on man-made global warming.

If this keeps up the island will capsize like Guam. I think I heard that was supposed to happen.
Too many people tipping the island.
They need more funding to stablize population growth and equalize the weight distribulion.

You want to easily disprove this nonsense, just Google the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey—it’s part of NOAA now. They determine the official boundary between private property and the “waters of the United States,” which is measured as the high tide line. They have charts of various ports and measurements of the where the tide line is. You will find that for any locality, the sea rise has been constant for the past century. Where I live, it is something like 1.5 millimeters per year and that has been the rate since something like 1902. The rate can vary from locality to locality, but that is really because of subsidence of the land mass, not because of global warming.

Maybe Obama should send them trillions so they can build a support structure that goes to the bottom of the ocean so the island won’t tip over.

If one were to dig deeper into this convenient argument presented at some Global climate catastrophe meeting for the benefit of the MIs likely getting US$$, one would find this in the article:

"Dr Murray Ford, from the University of Auckland, has been comparing aerial photographs of the islands taken by the United States military during World War II with photographs taken in the 1970s and in recent years. He found that many islands are getting larger and that the shrinking shoreline along coastal villages has largely been caused by commercial development, building of seawalls and land reclamation.

“It is a much more complicated story than the island being washed away,” he said.

I've been to Kwajalein twice, I've seen the coral pit excavations on the seaward side (the MIs are mostly atolls formed by volcano ring crests, not the typical archipelago you'd see, say, in Greece) where huge quantities of fill material were dredged up to make concrete. The bottom line in all this is power and control for 1st/2nd world countries and $$ for the 3rd and 4th world crap holes. There is no science behind any of it.

If a three inch rise in sea level (1945-present) is washing away graves, there is something seriously wrong with the location of those graves.
