D-Day-Plus-2 Radio Thread – June 8, 1944

New York Times page 1 photo on June 8, 1944 (mirror image).
Archive.org has a bunch of recordings for D+2. Most of them are BBC snippets of less than a minute. Presumably they were broadcast as part of longer newscasts, but who knows. I will post them together as a reply below. The one full-length recording is a 14:35 D-Day report from Charles Collingwood of CBS. Click on the link below to listen.

That Collingwood report was fantastic.
It strikes me that so many of the radio reporters were quite young. I remember many of them still working in the TV networks in the 70's and some into the 80's.
