NEW YORK (AP) — Coca-Cola is taking on obesity, this time with an online video showing how fun it could be to burn off the 140 calories in a can of its soda.

In the ad, the world's biggest beverage maker asks what would happen if people paid for a can of Coke by first working off the calories it contained. The ad, which notes that it typically takes 23 minutes of cycling to achieve that, shows a montage of people on a giant stationary bicycle happily trying to earn a can of its cola, with carnival music playing in the background.

This company is run by morons who actively market AGAINST their own products and have partnered with the govt, instead of working for shareholders. When was the last time you heard someone recommend KO stock as a Buy?

About 15 years for me.

Twelve teaspoons of sugar and lots of carbonation….yes, that definitely sounds like a health drink.

Exactly. But they have to keep up that myth, along with Big Gov’s faulty food pyramid.

I should have added. Anyone owning KO stock with these people in charge is a moron also. Actively working against shareholders is a sin.

Before long the soft drink maufactureres will be required by govt. to have warning labels on their products. Just like cigarettes.

Just watch. It won’t be long.

Having been in the soft drink industry for 25 years and another related field for another 10....

Coke will be in deep trouble in the not to distance future...all the demographic trends are going against them...

Age, health concerns, lifestyle changes, etc....

This ad is actually quite clever....it makes people think it’s ok to drink soda....just a little exercise will justify drinking their poison...

What do the Coke execs care!

They collect fantastic salaries and bennies, they enjoy job security from complacent stockholders....all the while kissing Moochelle's ample hindquarters and singing "We'd like to teach the world to sing.....in perfect har-mo-neeeee....."

This ranks up there with the stupidest ad campaign I ever saw, it was probably the 1970s and a canned Salmon company was running TV ads comparing their canned Salmon with the other canned Salmon, the others were full of disgusting skin and bones, basically it made canned Salmon seem like some disgusting horrible product that no one would want to eat.

I think you’re right. By doing an ad like this Coke is controlling the narrative about how their products are unhealthy. IOW -”Coca Cola, so damned tasty and fun you’ll work your a$$ off to justify drinking it!”

>> others were full of disgusting skin and bones

That’s funny, and definitely brainless.

I recently considered canned salmon as an occasional alternative to tuna, but decided against it. Close call.
