A Republican (hopefully conservative) congress should be able.
While obama is busy building his base, republican refuse to do anything, because they fear energizing his base.

Debt, like pregnancy, doesn’t just happen on it’s own. Both are nearly always the result/consequence of volitional choices. You make the choice, you pay the price. That’s life.

Now if he directs the loans to be “forgiven”, then how does the CBO declare that revenue source to be balanced with other cuts?

I can’t give you the sub-details.
I believe that 0bama is now entering the final phase of his presidency where he knows he has to and is determined to produce as much destruction as he can before his term ends. It’s a chilling thought, frankly.
He has been to this point successfully immunized against any degree of lying or rationality of spending restraint, and pretty much any degree of aiding and abetting the enemy.
It’s OK if he arms the Syrian opposition with arms sent to the failed democratization of Libya and loses personnel trying to cover up that operation. It’s OK if he releases colonel-general-grade officers of the Taliban from custody after great amounts of blood and treasure were unquestionably expended capturing them.
There is no mathematical constraint or assumption of overall balance when it comes to funding programs he decides are desirable; The US Treasury is just a big bag full of money he can dip into for any reason he wants; whether to pay back his campaign buddies in the case of the dozen or more solar companies that have imploded, to support 0care with any number of “navigator” jobs and fraudulent 50x overpriced database efforts.
There is no accountability for his directives and aims on introducing millions of illegals into the country for the reason of appealing to populists, stuffing the demographic ballot box, and cheap-labor corporatists.
If he needs the help of the IRS to suppress dissent or soon, to deny medical care to those deemed expendable, there’s little doubt in my mind he will proceed to do so.
What has he been held accountable for so far? Anything? The story has been crystallizing for some time now. You either get on his train or not. There is no justice department functionality other than furthering his agenda of destroying traditional Americana wherever it can be found.
I don’t see anything ending this. There is no scandal or piece of wrongdoing they cannot simply wait out, ignore, then change the topic after two weeks absolute tops. There is no attention span when it comes to holding the admin to any sort of account. The market is at all time highs and now you want to get in the way of that by changing anything they want to do? What’s the upside of that?
Now we will be getting into the Hillary worship phase and the 2014 election phase. All this admin needs is about 1 or 2 other topics to rotate to when the VA and Bergdahl and Benghazi and the IRS thing get a little lukewarm...and ironically, NEW outrages are perfect for this. So I see this as a ripe field for the most outrageous crap you and I probably can’t imagine. But these guys have proven, if anything, that they can come up with groundbreaking outrage when the need or desire arises. The more they come up, the less likelihood that any one thing will stick to them.
When the poster I was originally replying to said "starve the beast", I was hoping that was what he or she meant meant.
