How the Taliban got their hands on modern US missiles
New York Post ^ | June 8, 2014 | Kenneth R. Timmerman

Posted on 06/08/2014 10:38:24 PM PDT by House Atreides

"In his new book, “Dark Forces: The Truth About What Happened in Benghazi” (Broadside Books), writer Kenneth R. Timmerman explains how the US government’s efforts to arm the Libyan rebels backfired, flooding weapons into Syria, and as he reveals here, Afghanistan:

The Obama administration isn’t only giving the Taliban back its commanders — it’s giving them weapons.

Miliary records and sources reveal that on July 25, 2012, Taliban fighters in Kunar province successfully targeted a US Army CH-47 helicopter with a new generation Stinger missile...."

Wow, things are getting more and more interesting. Does this upcoming book start connecting the Libya, Syria, Hillary, Clinton, Taliban Prisoner exchange dots together?

I've preordered the book from Amazon. It comes out on June 24, 2014 -- the day of the Mississippi runoff election.

Obama and his despicable crew of America haters will DO ANYTHING to weaken and destroy America.

“explains how the US government’s efforts to arm the Libyan rebels backfired, flooding weapons into Syria,”

Uhhhh hey sparky. That WAS the plan.

Americans should be much more concerned how Iran obtained state of the art Chinese made shore to ship missiles which somehow feature the latest American designed guidance systems. The Iranians have fortified the Persian Gulf with those missiles.Currently the big blue water ships of the US Navy and 8-10,000 young American sailors are deployed in the narrow shallow waters of the Persian Gulf.

Obama fired an admiral and a general for just trying to provide protection during the Benghazi attack. They’ve been replaced by his own hand-picked left-wing Nazis. This country is in serious trouble.

This is what Benghazi is all about and why the Obama Administration will do everything necessary to cover it up.

Obama and Hillary Clinton bypassed normal channels and used the Dept of State as a conduit to supply advanced American weapons, especially our best version of the Stinger shoulder launched anti aircraft missile to Al - Qaeda and other Islamic terror groups in Libya and then tried to round the un used missiles up and buy them back to send them to Syria.

While this is just one aspect of Libya war ( the rest being the graft and corruption of well connected insiders making huge sums of money stealing Gaddafi's $ 2 Trillion fortune), it is by far the most damming because supply of weapons to the enemy in time of war is treason and giving terrorists advanced shoulder launched anti air missiles is really bad policy

I agree, it was either intentional or, at very best, a failure by the incompetents Obama and Hillary Clinton to foresee this as a very LIKELY outcome.

Very serious trouble.

This is an unprecedented crisis of enormous proportions. Our politicians seem paralyzed by its enormity, and some are complicit.

The person in the Presidency has committed overt acts aiding the enemy, which is treason.

Congress MUST act or they themselves are liable for misprision of treason.

This is an enormous crisis.

“Chinese made shore to ship missiles which somehow feature the latest American designed guidance systems.”

Thank FReeper ‘Alamo girl’ for this very informative compilation of facts about how the Chinese got their fat little paws on our guidance systems. Great read!

Wall Street Journal 4/14/98 Editorial “…President Clinton approved the transfer of missile guidance technology to China at the behest of the largest personal contributor to the Democratic Party. He granted the needed waiver despite an ongoing Department of Justice criminal investigation of the same company’s earlier transfer of similar technology: a Pentagon study concluding that in the earlier episode “United States national security has been harmed.” That is the essence of a report yesterday by Jeff Gerth of the New York Times (who also reported the original Whitewater story in 1992) concerning satellite launch technology provided by Loral Space and Communications and Hughes Electronics, a subsidiary of General Motors. Loral Chairman Bernard L. Schwartz topped the personal contributions list in 1997; his 1994 trip to China with Commerce Secretary Ron Brown was quickly followed by a memo to the President from Harold Ickes saying Mr. Schwartz “is prepared to do anything he can for the Administration.” Lobbying jointly with Hughes Chairman C. Michael Armstrong, who has gone on to head AT&T, Mr. Schwartz succeeded in softening licensing requirements for export of guidance technology to China….”

The secrecy, and the lying, PROVE that it was the plan
to arm al Qaeda from the beginning.

“We must investigate if there is just the appearance of impropriety.”

I can’t remember where I heard this.

You are very welcome.

Way back in 2001 when I was just a pup here at FR and getting beat up for being a ‘Newbie’ you jumped in and defended me.

I never forgot your kind gesture and thank you again....panax

...on July 25, 2012, Taliban fighters in Kunar province successfully targeted a US Army CH-47 helicopter with a new generation Stinger missile.

The next day, an explosive ordnance disposal team arrived to pick through the wreckage and found unexploded pieces of a missile casing that could only belong to a Stinger missile.

Lodged in the right nacelle, they found one fragment that contained an entire serial number.

The investigation took time. Arms were twisted, noses put out of joint. But when the results came back, they were stunning: The Stinger tracked back to a lot that had been signed out by the CIA recently, not during the anti-Soviet jihad.

...sources in the US Special Operations community believe the Stinger fired against the Chinook was part of the same lot the CIA turned over to the Qataris in early 2011, weapons Hillary Rodham Clinton’s State Department intended for anti-Khadafy forces in Libya.

We are really starting to see learn why Trey Gowdy decided to lead off with the Benghazi investigation instead of the IRS investigation. This is infinitely worse than Iran -Contra ever was

Some 400 surface to air missiles disappeared during Benghazi...never found, it was thought they ended up with Al Quaeda so ‘at this point, what difference does it make?’, it seems Hillary either has no clue, or is just as traitorous as the rest of the DOJ...and Zero.
