I sort of expect a little bit of professionalism in at least attempting to hide their incompetence.

Keeping them updated is one thing, letting them sit in on secure, possibly classified briefings is utterly preposterous. Where is the leadership in our military that would allow this to happen? Under who’s orders did Colonel Marsano allow this to happen? If Ben Bergdahl was in contact with the Taliban, what did he pass on to them? Time for somebody to go to jail!
We need God to remove Obama from office, because our congress is about as worthless as Obama for letting him get away with all he has done... Lord help us...

Our Lord can get miffed at times. He has been known to send floods, fire, earthquakes, pestilence. Pretty much anything to wake people up. He is tough love sometimes, as a Father should be.
Seems like this time He is REALLY upset with us to send us these clowns that break everything decent people stand for. I can’t think of another explanation for the arrant and crass stupidity we are looking at.

What leadership? Look, I have never met a squaddie (pick your own term for your own service) I didn’t like - even if we were having a punch up at the time. That were just blowing off steam and having some fun, you know? At the same time, I can probably count on the fingers of both hands the numbers of US officers beyond the rank of Captain I both trusted and respected in the last 10 years.
Fish rots from the head down. Clinton politicized the higher command. GWB was an awesome CinC but he pretty much left the brass to carry on in their own way because he knew his limitations. Not dissing him, I’d follow him or have him in my squad any time, but the guy were kind of busy. Now this pathetic little Worm is gutting the services of anyone with an ounce of integrity.
I don’t know any more. One of the reasons I read here is because I see people who know and understand. People you want at your flank when crap goes down.

He has no respect for America, what she has been through and what she stands for. He exists to destroy her. NOTHING he has done in 6 years has benefited this country, only weakened it and set us up for destruction.
No Sir. It seems there is not a single adult in the upper ranks of the Pentagon any more. The bureaucrats have taken over with their CYA stuff.
I’ll give you an example. Last time I took a team out (2011), we were co-based. Always like that, you guys get a lot better food than we do, and food is almost as important as movie nights during the down times. You got some wickedly good tech as well. Far better than the stuff we get to play with.
The base CO - an American officer on his fifth deployment, had 3 full binders of the RoE. Say 700 pages, maybe 800? Small font, too. Micromanagement city. Couldn’t believe what I were looking at. Poor sod were drowning in paperwork every single day.
Our RoE was a single sheet of paper which basically boiled down to “Do what it takes, but try not to commit any major atrocities. Those are a pain to deal with.” The paperwork was along the lines of “Send more ammo and we need an extract for a wounded soldier.” A lot simpler. Our brass trusted us. No micro management needed.
(on a side note - I know there are problems with the VA system, they have been well publicized, but if anyone ever disses the primary care to me - the pain flights and the immediate, life saving surgery - we will have words.)
I just don’t get it. Having worked with US forces (Army, Air Force and Rangers) since 1985, I am impressed. Your guys are trained good. Not going to say great - unit rivalry takes it’s toll! Equipped second to none, without question. Proud, decent, usually a damned good laugh. Yet it’s like grabbing a Formula 1 Ferrari and entering it in a tractor pull as far as the dead weight of the Pentagon is concerned.
Sorry, mildly rambling, tired here. But can anyone explain that to me please?

I have been praying for God to remove Obama for a very long time. I think Obama is God’s judgment on America.
