Report: GOP Establishment Ready to Wage War on Ted Cruz (he drew blood, so must be destroyed!)
breitbart.com ^ | 6/9/14 | Tony Lee

Having failed to co-opt Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), the Republican permanent political class in Washington, D.C. may wage war on him after the midterm elections.

Wall Street donors may stop giving money to him and groups that support him. Party leaders may take committee assignments away from the Texas senator who is revered by the conservative grassroots that put GOP leaders back in power.

According to Time magazine, "now that primary season is almost over, some establishment Republicans are looking for retribution" against Cruz, who recently just crushed the Texas GOP presidential straw poll and has been calling out Obama for his lawlessness. Cruz has also held the Republican establishment, which lost control of the government last decade by spending like Democrats, to account. And they do not like him for doing so.

Kyle Downey, "a former GOP Senate leadership aide," whined about how Cruz cannot be trusted because he did not actively campaign for moderate establishment Republican incumbents that the base loathes. Cruz also did not campaign against them either this election cycle, which is a concession Downey conveniently does not make. Time also quotes a "former GOP Senate leadership aide" who did not go on the record saying Cruz will "largely be marginalized" in the Senate like Jesse Helms.

Establishment Republican consultant John Feehery, who has trashed conservatives like Mark Levin and carried water for the Republican establishment in the mainstream media and liberal networks like MSNBC, told Time's Jay Newton Small that Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) should retaliate against Cruz like House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has done against Tea Partiers.

“If Cruz votes against McConnell and decides he’s not going to be caucusing with Republicans, kicking him off all his committees is an obvious move,” Feehery told Time.

But they never did this with Lisa Murkowski!!! She REFUSED to support the republican nominee and then ran as an independent. But SHE was never removed from any committees.

I think we all know why.

The internet is the great equalizer and keeps what little disinformation and propaganda open to those willing to look.

The internet will be the next great battle because once yours and others voices are silenced then we once again have no way of knowing that others feel and think like we do.

The Tea Party needs to try to get a ONE candidate in each state and try to eliminate one RINO per cycle. By concentrating the votes and money the Tea party can slowly get rid of the RINOs which are only democrats in conservative suits.

The Speaker of the House has been pretty good about removing conservatives from committees. Ask Tim Huelskamp, Justin Amash, Walter Jones and David Schweikert.

Exactly! In 2010 we took out Specter and Bennett and made Murkowski openly betray us and fight for her life with the help of democrats. In 2012 we took out Dick Lugar. This year we appear to have taken out Thad Cochran. And I have my list ready for 2016!

If a duly elected representative is not allowed to “represent We the People,” we then no longer a Republic, nor is the party to which we belong Republican.

So to that end, what we have is an oligarchy and is no longer Constitutional.

And this would then make the GOP-E, traitors.

I love Brietbart.com, but this article is a bunch of hyperbolic nonsense whose main source is a Time magazine article written to stir up trouble. This recap is the conservative equivalent of a liberal website's running with a bogus-in-the-first-place global warming study and picking out quotes to headline the "warming will end the world!"

The two "establishment Republicans" quoted in the article are "a former GOP Senate leadership aide" who we can assume doesn't currently have a job and a "consultant" who "worked for Bob Michal" - a guy that's been out of office for twenty years!

These two "establishment Republicans" are nobodies trying to become somebodies by waving red meat at Times readers.

Time magazine runs these article to gin up interparty anger amongst Republicans, and Brietbart is trying to get clicks by promoting it.

We have enough well-deserved enmity for the establishment Republicans, without letting the likes of Time magazine foment even greater levels. Cruz seems to be fairly well liked by all sides in the party. That's why Time magazine is stirring the pot.

This is the number 1 reason that losing Mitch McConnell’s seat to a Democrat will actually be a gain.

“This is the number 1 reason that losing Mitch McConnell’s seat to a Democrat will actually be a gain.”

I’ve been arguing that incessantly but there are those here on FR that are in love with the “r” next to his name. He is an insidious oligarch who should be removed from power one way or the other. Because he is dangerous.

Forget about McConnell losing. He’s a valuable Democrat. Grimes will be given something else or placed in line for succession.

“This is the number 1 reason that losing Mitch McConnell’s seat to a Democrat will actually be a gain.”

The largest downside is... not being able to secure a majority while ObaMao is in office - appointing new Alinskyites to SCOUS (Ginsburg born 1933, Kennedy born 1936, Breyer born 1938) and other key positions.

Replacing Mc-Conn-all with a Jr. Rat senator will (probably) correct itself after his/her seat is up for election in 6 yrs. In the mean time, ObaMao will reek havoc on the Rat party and that is waking up more people to the conservative perspective.

Right now, it's of utmost importance to protect border states from illegals voting, else red states will turn blue from the combination of blue-staters flocking out of failed statist utopias (CA, MI, NY, etc.), plus new ignorant immigrants able to vote themselves "free stuff" from OPM (Other People's Money). It's obviously a top priority from the ObaMao's new effort to buss large groups of illegals to various points across border states. Small states still have 2 senators each - which gives them an outsized influence in confirmations and foreign policy. Large states have electoral college dominance, which ensures presidential elections.

That's how the Rats continue to control the national agenda - executive branch and senate.

read the old book - “advise and Consent” and see how non-followers are treated. A most interesting read from the early ‘50’s and what’s happening today.

I’ve seen the movie a couple times, but movies are never as good as the book. I’ll look at my local 1/2 priced books...

With republican control with Mitch at the head, do you think they would really oppose any communist that Obama put forward for SCOTUS?

Not the GOPe for sure. Cruz has been effective at shaming the GOPe into pretending to have a backbone.

Right now I'm tilting at being more worried about the explosion of anchor-baby illegals throughout the south. The Rats are solidifying their control of the senate using small states like Rhode Island, VT, etc., while overrunning large states with electoral votes with leftists dependent on gov largess. They REALLY want to turn TX and FL into solid blue states. With CA, NY, MA, MN, etc solid blue, it'll be impossible to get a conservative in the White House for years to come and America will be no more.
