'I've Had Enough:' When Democrats Quit on Obama
National Journal ^ | June 9, 2014 | Ron Fournier

Posted on 06/09/2014 8:13:34 AM PDT by don-o

The email hit my in-box at 9:41 p.m. last Wednesday. From one of the most powerful Democrats in Washington, a close adviser to the White House, the missive amounted to an electronic eye roll. "Even I have had enough."

Another Democrat had quit on President Obama.

The tipping point for this person was the Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl case—not the soldier-for-Taliban swap itself as much as how the White House mishandled its obligation to communicate effectively and honestly to Congress and the public. More than that, Obama's team had failed once again to acknowledge its mistakes, preferring to cast blame and seek cover behind talking points.

"DC is hard, and depressing," the Democrat wrote. "I still believe good comes from government (e.g. 8 million in ACA). But that Politico story is a cautionary one: good reminder that you can't go so in the bunker [and] no longer identify legitimate criticism." That day, Politico had posted a story channeling the White House communications team's response to the Bergdahl backlash. Share This Story

White House aides were aware Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl had been tagged a deserter, and that they would be grilled over not keeping Congress in the loop. But they figured people would be most outraged over the national security implications.

The White House has been surprised by how much attention has remained on the questions about Bergdahl, from the circumstances of his disappearance to the wild beard his father grew while he was being held that's even led to Bergdahl's hometown canceling a celebration. All this, Obama aides say, is in their minds a proxy for the hatred toward the president.

The new approach: Frame the criticism as another example of Republicans complaining about something just because Obama was the one to do it.

And yet, there will never be enough RATS quitting and joining the opposition for an Obama impeachment.

Will not happen.

“Another Democrat had quit on President Obama.”

It’s too little, too late.

Their conduct and blind support for him up to now, has earned them the universal and everlasting disgust of everyone.

Their place in history, as the people MOST responsible for destroying America and mutilating our national character beyond all recognition, is secured!

They will not be able to live it down… AND the Republicans who stood by with their arms folded are AS MUCH to blame and can share equally in the scorn Liberals earned for themselves.

This important Democrat who got a clue on the Bergdahl story still is clueless on other failed policies of his Messiah. In other words, a hypocrite.

CYA BS (really... 8 million in ACA—did not happen and is not financed, they are majority added to Medicaid and are now in our ERs in larger numbers than before).

CYA BS from a demo operative. It is an early sign on statement for hitlery... to complete the “good government” is any government power game and destroy the rest of the country for regular non elite people. This is a stupid post from Fournier if he doesn’t acknowledge this.

Rats are rats— and jump ship together, racing each other actually.

Democrats don’t have a religion other than their politics, so it would be heresy for them to leave the cult. The believe government is God and will solve all of humanities problems…as long as they are in charge.

Irrelevant. Typical American conservative loser pundit— three steps behind what’s actually occurring, feigning outrage, asking for money to fight yesterday’s battles.

Dear Mr. Fournier: Obama is going to do every whacked out thing you can imagine between now and November 2016. If he gets away with it, great for the Left. If he doesn’t, great for Hillary b/c it makes her look like a Moderate in the presidential race.

Some Dems are awakening from their partisan coma. Impeachment is not on their minds, but the next two elections are. They see that Obama is leading them toward an electoral b l o o d b a t h in Nov, & they are even beginning to sense he could singlehandedly give the WH to the GOP in ‘16. They are in a hopeless quandary. Throwing Obama under the bus will not help their brand. Continuing to support the Obama trainwreck won’t help them either. [Obama’s negative average on RealClearPolitics hit -10.4 earlier today, before ‘rebounding’ to -9.8. This is toxicity level, & Obama has been stuck there for what must seem to Dems like forever.]

No, they won’t impeach him. Their black voters would revolt as has never been witnessed before, & likely never would be again. But they are trying to figure out how to avoid going down w Obama’s sinking ship. They have few options, none of them good. They’ll probably ultimately be stuck w simply trying to talk him into doing things differently, so as to stop the b l e e d i n g. He won’t listen, & they’ll lose big in Nov, if the Good Lord delays His return, & bigger in ‘16.

Sorry, this article is water-carrying hogwash. ‘He's a talented guy but guy but can't lead’, ‘we're not good at the small stuff’. What I set here is a shot across the bow to save the Democrat face. The problem is Obama but it's just as much the Democrats (and the RINO’s, too). It's an ideology problem.....and it needs fixing, not whitewash.

A better approach would be to charge everyone who works with Obama with crimes, hopefully jail time. The HOR and US Senate are making a big mistake not doing that when "the inner circle" refuses to testify or give false testimony. They should be put in jail.

That way, Obama advisors will become very leary of implementing Obama's unconstituional dictates.

hillary, Susan Rice, Lois Lerner would be a good start.

Did you take notes? and

Can I publish them? and

Will you testify at Ophonybama’s impeachment?

From the article:

I share this email to make the broader point and to offer a disclosure: In the 18 months since I began writing columns focused on the presidency, virtually every post critical of Obama has originated from conversations with Democrats. Members of Congress, consultants, pollsters, lobbyists, and executives at think tanks, these Democrats are my Obama-whispers. They respect and admire Obama but believe that his presidency has been damaged by his shortcomings as a leader; his inattention to details of governing; his disengagement from the political process and from the public; his unwillingness to learn on the job; and his failure to surround himself with top-shelf advisers who are willing to challenge their boss as well as their own preconceived notions.

This is the political equivalent of, "If we had some ham we'd have ham and eggs if we had some eggs." obama is what he has always been what he always will be.

(sorry for the double Ping) to more evidence that Barry has possibly jumped the shark into Nixonian-level pre-invitation-to-resign-level demands by Democrats as top level liberal journalist, the highly connected Ron Fournier of the relatively non-partisan (for DC) National Journal reports numerous insider Democrats coming to him and denouncing Barry latest acts of political suicide for their party.

Republican know that if they initiate impeachment it will blow back on them, but more Democrats now seem to realize that Barry will doom them to defeat not just in 2014 but he will doom Hillary to defeat in 2016 if he isn’t stopped soon, especially after his entire “nstional security team” admitted that they “all” agreed to the obviously insane Bergdahl swap!
